One Life Too Many – 2
Capri calls me soon after the visitors have left my house and asks me if I’m interested in going out for a drink. I agree to it seeing I wouldn’t mind going out and enjoying a couple of scotch and cokes, having a good chat with her and eyeing out beautiful girls.
I don’t know what it is about the two of us but when we go out, a lot of eyes are drawn to our attention. Without sounding big headed, we are two very good looking girls with equally matching personalities. We agree not to get involved with anyone tonight. We both have had a long day and an early start tomorrow. So it’s only looking but definitely no touching tonight.
Capri picks me up and we head to a familiar night spot that’s popular with the gay community. Bimbo’s Bar in the heart of Melbourne is rocking tonight. There is a definite buzz tonight and everyone has a smile on their face. I quickly eye out the place to make sure that I don’t spot anyone who I know. I love to feel comfortable in my surroundings and the last thing I want is for a extended family member to see me out in a place like this. I still haven’t come out and I don’t want anyone to do that for me.
We grab a seat in the corner of the bar and light up a cigarette. I can’t help but eye out the bartender while Capri is telling me of her day. I nod my head as if I was listening attentively. The bartender is still looking straight at me and I exhale the drag I just had of my cigarette. I turn to Capri just in time as she finishes talking and tell her to head up to the bar to grab the first round. She insists I go but id rather not. I know that if I do, I would take twice as long as her to return. I promise her that I would go the next two times if she goes this first time and she agrees and sets off to get our drinks.
In the time while she’s away, I check my mobile to see if anyone has rang or left a message. There is one from my sister to bring her a packet of cigarettes when I get home. I laugh. I cannot get away from reality at any stage in my life can I? Capri comes back with my scotch and her vodka and we jing our glasses for a good night.

I like your style as well. I wonder if you are not really telling us who this is in relationship to the characters of TLW on purpose, or if we don’t know simply because it is being told in the first person. “Just call me J.” Jenny would be the obvious guess, but somehow I don’t feel like this is her. Interesting start! Thanks!
Wow…. i think that your writing style is quite supurb and i love to see a journel on this site… its so raw and raises many issue for the GLBT community. Good Work. I’ll definitly be looking forward to reading it each week!!
I like your style from the first person POV. Is this a true story as you stated or a fiction of something that was in your head? PPS.
Wow I haven’t seen Bette or Tina name in this story at all and yet I’m still so intrigued, nice chapter I was literally picturing the scene as I was reading sounds so real, nice!
