    8:45 AM Room 919

Went to bed thinking about Shane. I could barely keep my eyes open. The jet lag,  the surprise of seeing Shane the walking, feeling Shane god I need a fucking drink. To top it off I had nothing to wear. Wade wouldn’t stop messing with me. He bought the bet thing up again. Right like I was just gonna hop into Shane’s bed again and pretend everything was ok again.

Just because we kissed, just because my clothes were a little rumpled. Does not mean we fucked in the elevator on the way to the room, I told him. He just laughed at me. I threw a pillow at him and went to my room.

I looked at myself in the mirror and he was right I was a mess. I looked wild. Out of control. All day long we walked, all and day long I had this thought of me going down on Shane and Shane going down on me. It was a reel it keep spinning.

I clean out my pockets and find a card. A business card.

    Shane McCutheon,

    Stylist

I flip the card and read.

Carmen call me no matter what time it is.

No fair I thought. This was her plan all along. To ambush me in elevator and leave this card behind. A little voice in my said that I wasn’t as smart as I thought I was.

The number is the same as the last time I called it. Two or three years ago.

    “Yeah, Shane”

    “You never changed your number.”

“I was hoping someday you would call me.”

“I am sorry the thought never came up.”

    “It’s ok I understand.”

Do you really understand Shane? I thought to myself but I didn’t say.

“Are you really not seeing anyone?”

Say what you will Shane could never lie. If she didn’t want to tell you the truth about something she would just walk away. Can’t really walk away while your on the phone can you?

“I haven’t been with anyone since the last time we made love.”
