It was 6:30 and Tinahad built up enough courage to talk to Alice about it, she had a plan. She was going to use the a friend of mine has a problem technique, she knew it wouldnt work but it was worth a try.
Alice Tina said looking straight at her.
Umm Yeh thats me Alice said in a sarcastic voice.
Tina burst out in tears. Obviously this friend of mine tactic wasnt going to work.

Did kit tell? Yet again there was no need for Tina to even bother answering because Alice already knew the answer.
By about 7:30 Tina had moved from Alices arms, arms that had been there to comfort and not judge Tina.

Tina had just finished getting ready when the doorbell rang. Alice got it. It was Kit.
Alice and Kit just looked at each other.
Spose you know Kit said with a smile.
Take care of her for me.. Wont you? Alice said sounding like Tinas protector.

On the way there was complete silence, it was a mixture of Tina being nervous and trying not to cry and Kit trying not to put her foot in her mouth. Kit was quiet; the silence brought Tina back to reality and the seriousness of it.

She sings beautiful songs Kit said trying to make Tina less nervous.
Of course she does Tina said unsurprised like she didnt really comprehend what Kit had said.
Kit and Tina walked into the bar. Tina held her breath, there she was. More beautiful than Tina had ever imagined, omg shes perfect Tina thought to herself. She was so proud.
Kit could see that Tina was happy, happy and sad. They both grabbed a drink and sat at a table near the stage but not directly near, so they werent in the spotlight of Jackie.

Tina moved her shameful head from the table and starred up at Jackie.

As both Tina and kit got up to leave Jackie approached Tina.
You let go 11 years ago when i was four and left me with the belief that you would come back for me. Well now Im letting go. Jackie said as she ripped of the diamond studded j necklace from her neck and placed it in Tinas hand.

Tina was stunned, that was the necklace she gave Jackie when she was a baby. Jackie ran out and following her was a reasonably good-looking guy.
Kit couldnt believe it; maybe this had been a bad idea.
Tina placed the necklace around her neck, looked at kit and said

Yeh sure we can. Kit said with an ongoing stare at Tina, how could she be so calm. What was going on inside her head?
