No Beast so Fierce Chapter Three

“ Touché.” Was his only response, though he didn’t sound convinced.

After a moment though, something he had said registered with Tina. She set down the mashed potatoes and wiped her hands.

“And I’m not disappointed in you for being straight. I don’t know where you got that idea, but don’t ever think that. Ever.” Tina warned before grabbing the milk from the fridge. She kept Peter in sight as she did so though, wanting to gauge his reactions. Peter looked back at her, face a perfect mask of disinterest.

“Right.” He said, nodding. “You’re, uh disappointed because I don’t get along with Miss Personality aren‘t you?” He said jerking his thumb in the direction of Bette’s swift retreat from the house. Tina paused for a moment, and fixed Peter with a disbelieving stare at his audacity before picking up the bowl of mashed potatoes.

“You know what, Peter? Yeah. I am a little disappointed.” She admitted, nodding. She began to whisk the mashed potatoes, but as she spike, her voice rising with every sentence the whisking became more and more vigorous. “I’m disappointed that you have not at least attempted to build up a relationship with the love of my life based on anything other than animosity and bitterness. I’m disappointed that you think it’s funny to belittle and insult her behind her back. I’m also disappointed that you think it’s funny to belittle and insult her to her face.” Tina finally admitted with small shout.

Peter just leaned over and looked at the mashed potatoes. He loved his mother’s mashed potatoes.

“You’re getting upset.” The young wereboar noted.

“I’m not getting upset.” Tina blatantly lied before continuing on. If the potatoes were capable, they would be begging for mercy. “I’m disappointed that despite the fact that Bette has been nothing but accommodating and understanding since the moment you arrived-

“You’re going to ruin the mashed potatoes.” Peter interrupted.

“I’m not, I’m whisking them extra thin and creamy just the way you like them.”

“They’re going to turn into soup the way you’re banging that thing around.” Peter continued, but as he did his mother continued to talk over him.

“And I’m disappointed that despite the fact that Bette has offered you olive branch after olive branch you have left her standing in the cold looking like an idiot. “ Tina finally sat the bowl down and leaned over the counter, glaring daggers at her son.

    1. I almost forgot all about this?….Man, wonder what’s he’s hiding?.. Why can’t he accept Bette?.. Is he hoping that his mom will go back to his dad?……still awesome to read!..hope you can update again..Soon.

    2. Quite the moody boy, is Peter. I suppose Bette can just keep trying, but I don’t think Peter’s going to meet anyone halfway. Loved the bit with Mr Piddles. I wonder what unspeakable things he wound up doing to Dana’s bedsheets? Great chapter, thanks for posting and I hope the next is soon. Cheers :)
