NEW YORK MINUTE
CHAPTER 59
Bette stepped out of the shower – she couldn’t believe that she felt so good after feeling like death the two days previous. Granted she had slept almost non stop from 8pm the night before to noon today but the sleep had been just the tonic she had needed. She now felt very good and was glad that she had been able to admit to Tina that she felt terrible and needed to take a time out. It was a hot New York day and she was glad for the A/C keeping the temperature – it would be a steaming Saturday for anyone out on the streets. Bette dressed simply in black slacks and a white shirt – she didn’t bother to put on a bra. Her long sleep had also stirred her sexual appetite – and while she wasn’t sure how Tina was feeling about their physical relationship Bette didn’t think there was any harm in giving the blonde a nudge in that direction. It would also be a good thing if they could arrange to have a night out with Shane saying frequently how much she wanted to baby-sit Angie. Bette smiled – Shane was one of only a handful of people that Tina would trust taking care of Angie – the other two were Casey and James. Bette finished combing her hair out and went in search of her family – the house was silent – they had probably all gone out.
Tina was sitting at Bette’s desk working on the script that she had agreed to “revive”. She had woken up at 6am feeling more positive about the future than she had in several days – Shane’s appearance had been wonderful – here was someone who was on their side and someone she could really talk to. Since she had left LA – something she never regretted she had missed having someone she could talk to about how things were with Bette – how gloriously amazing things were with Bette. So Tina showered and got dressed, made some coffee and settled down to work on the script.
When Bette walked into the sitting room Tina was sitting typing at speed. Bette lent against the door frame and watched her. With her long blonde hair tied back and a serious look on her face Bette was reminded what a really brilliant studio executive she had been back in LA. Bette didn’t doubt that she would be again – they just had to get over the current road blocks — the demons re-awaken by Louise and the bad-mouthing that Helena Peabody had done of Tina’s reputation.

OOOH – just when Shane got home! Love/Want more Shane in NY!!! Maybe she can stay and be the next great thing to hit the Village! She has the whole east coast to conquer! BTW – the girls should take a trip down New Jersey way(45-50mins south from the city) and hit the very Gay Beach town of Asbury Park!(exit 102 on the GSP)The town in very Artsy …they even have a block called “Gallery Row”…Bette might find her next new showcase Artist! They can even go to the Leather Smith in town where Angie can make her own leather bracelet w/butterflies and flowers…sorry no dinosaurs Ange)(maybe Kittens):) yeah Rocky! We can make the Queen of Sheba a kitty collar w/her name on it!!! Love the updates! more please!
OH – and if Tina’s dickhead father or sister show up – I hope it’s when Shane’s around to put them in their place…although I think they should go back to Carolina or better yet – let them get lost in the Jungles of South America and get out of our sweet Tina’s life all together! We hate seeing Tina suffering through a mental breakdown when things are going so well in NYC!:)Better yet – let’s let Peggy work her magic and get rid of them!((((like only the GREAT Peggy Peabody can!!!))))

Hey Ally, Sorry I haven;t been around lately but I am back and just had to post my thoughts about your story. This is just awesome. It was good to see that Bette has really changed and is now able to admit her frailities to Tina. You capture it all so beautifully. Firstly, all the trauma of Tina’s sister’s sudden appearance. Secondly, Tina’s revelation about her father and her family. Thirdly, Bette’s actions to protect her wife and child. And finally Shane’s arrical in NY to lightened Tina’s mood and ease her worries. Just perfection in written form. More please as I totally adore your words. They are truly magical. Your Loyal Fan.
