My Skin is Painfully New – Chapter 10

    Previously:

Bette rolled over and curled herself in the fetal position. Her longing for Tina was so great she could even smell Tinas perfume in the room with her. She sobbed for everything she had lost and gave herself over to the crushing grief.

Tina stared at Bettes back for a minute, transfixed, and then silently turned and walked out the door.

Tina ran to her car, tears streaming down her face, wildly yanked the door open and jumped inside, as if being chased. She sat, her body wracked with sobs, an ache washing over her like a wave, pulling her under and rolling her around in a swirling vortex where she could not distinguish in what direction she would find air. It took her several minutes to realize that the thickness of the air and her inability to breathe was most certainly enhanced by the noon sun beating down on her car, closed up tight, no window cracked, no air conditioning running on a 93 degree Los Angeles day.

She opened the door and turned to dangle her feet out to the side. She gulped in the cooler air and wiped away some of the sweat that was pooling between her *****. She had to go to Bette. She had to climb into the bed with her, curl herself around Bettes broken spirit and breathe life back into her. She had just witnessed a profound truth that touched the very core of her being. Bette loved her. Bette wanted her.

She stood up and began making her way to the porch when her body was overtaken by another wave, a wave of nausea so strong that she had to grab on to the post to keep from falling over. Unable to contain it, Tina vomited, violently, trying to direct it to the ground rather than the stairs. Coughing and shaking, she dragged herself to the door and knocked weakly, unable to reach into her pocket for her keys. As the swirling vortex overtook her again, Tina scratched at the door, whispering help me, seconds before her world went black.

    1. Your Jenny is very real (i.e. Shane taking 4 bags and Jenny taking the bag with the toilet paper and a jug of milk. Jenny’s inability to call 911 in an emergency.) Very nice!

    2. Oh my god. You have us by our toes right now. What a turn…Tina on her way back to Bette and now this. You do know how to keep us hanging here. Post soon. Real soon and let´s see what happens to B&T.

    3. Your writing is exquisite. I am hoping Bette and Tina are reunited for good soon. Keep writing because I know it makes you happy!! Love your partner for life.
