My One Special One – Chapter 14

Bette pulled Tina against her.  She was filled with many emotions, none of which were anger.  To have this woman in her life, to know that she loves her beyond the obstacles of bigotry and hurtful words to the heart, lifted her own spirit into the heavens.

“Baby, the only thing I’m mad about is you.  Let’s get out of here.” Bette whispered.

She took Tina’s hand and with her other hand turned off the lights, set the alarm and both exited the store.  They turned left heading toward Headhouse Square since Bette’s car was parked close to there.  Walking close and leaning into each other, neither saw the man approaching them. He apparently was in a rush not seeing them either and bumped shoulder to shoulder with Tina knocking her back a bit.  He immediately put his hand on her forearm.  Bette’s eyes went from his hand on Tina’s arm to the man’s face.

“Oh, I’m so sorry, Miss.  I’m about to run out of time on the parking meter and was rushing to get there before I’m ticketed.”

“That’sthat’s okay.” Tina replied.  A lightening bolt of memory flashed in her mind of another man knocking into her several weeks ago.  In that same flash, the man was gone, up the street and turned a corner.

“Are you okay?” Bette asked concerned.

“Yeah, everything’s fine, honey.  I guess I was just momentarily stunned.  Let’s get to your car.”

    * * *

“Good evening, Ms. Bette.” Eduardo broadly smiled at the two women as they entered the lobby.

“Good evening to you, Eduardo.  Eduardo, I don’t know if I ever properly introduced you.  This is Tina, Tina Kennard.  I do believe you’ll be seeing her a lot.”  Now, it was Bette’s turn to flash her megawatt smile.

“Nice to meet you, Ms. Tina.  Enjoy your evening and your weekend.”

“We will.  You, too.”  Bette placed her hand on the small of Tina’s back and led her to the bank of elevators.  They stepped into the nearest one as the doors opened.  They stood at the back of the car, both watching as the numbers of the floors lit up.  Neither said a word but each felt the heat within them rising – almost as fast and with the same propulsion as the elevator.

    1. Man, I soo wish I had connections that could get you a writing spot on the show. This was just fabulous,so absolutely beautiful. This is exactly what I needed especially after seeing the dismal direction IC is taking our fav couple. thanks RC

    2. Okay, I’ll accept that the S.S. TiBette is sinking due to Hurican Ilene, but thank you sooooo much for being a life preserver. I always look forward to your chapters and you never disappoint. Please post more often…us TiBetters are dying out here!

    3. RC, you always bring me to tears with your writing about these two lovelies. Most especially with your poems and your writings about the thoughts of Misses Fate and Destiny. You are so spot-on with that. LOve it. Thanks for the post.

    4. RC..as always that was perfect. Your writing never ceases to amaze me. Bette releasing her fear and declaring her love to Tina was so beautiful. Then Tina coming over and calling her mom and declaring her love for Bette despite her loss of family was breathtaking. There’s no coincidence with that man bumping into Tina. This is related to the drug dealer’s cases. Looking for to the drama this case is going to bring into their lives. Your poem was very fitting and lovely. RC…thanks for this great update and please do continue.

    5. Areceexti, this is a good story and just now came across it via another reader’s mention of it. I read your other one too and was particularly struck by the toast by fate and destiny. I look forward to the next chapter.

    6. arc…that was a fucking beautiful chapter and personally I am in denialville and will keep my hopes high for B & T. Thank you for keeping them happy. post soon

    7. I should’ve saved this one for home. I freaking had to run to the bathroom so I wouldn’t start bawling in the office. LOL All I can really say is, “GO, TINA!”

    8. Spectacular!!!!…ok, pls one request…a little more fluffy stuff befor the angst that I see your setting us up for…pls just let us bask in this glow for a couple more chapters…pls…..thankyou

    9. Arceextl,Aw suchs baby that was delightful! The build up was perfect as Bette tried to push Tina away before her heart was broken irrevocably. All the while Tina was trying to get a word in edgeways to demonstrate the depth of her love for Bette to the detriment of her family relationships. As for the baddies lurking in all corners, this guy bumping into Tina seems a little suspicious. Particularly as this reminded Tina of a similar event in the recent past. The plot thickens and deepens at every turn. I can’t wait to see where all of these leads go. Please continue soon. Many thanks for this terrific tale. Your Loyal Fan.

    10. After all this anguish that you placed in my mind when Tina had to take a choice this worth it! this chapter was amazing the dialogue between Tina and her mother and the way that Bette opened her Fellings to Tina amazing absolutly amazing and so hot too. I am still concerned about this man cause in this chapter he show up again. Post soon.

    11. this was P.E.R.F.E.C.T. such beauty and amazing chemistry…of course we know drama is coming with all those weird men bumping into tina but i hope bette will keep her safe and they will be safe on their way to Forever

    12. Denialville sounds like a beautiful place. Let’s all live there. I can’t bear to watch the show, but it’s comforting to know we have great authors like you who treat our favorite couple with the respect they deserve. Thanks so much.

    13. Yes Tina you made the rigth choise….go Tina go Tina LOL….great chapter again, but I’m a bit worried about that man on the street – please let them be save and crazy in love for ever :o))….More please, this is so great…
