“My name is Bette Porter…and this is my story” chpt 3 of 5
“Aww…” I ran over and jumped in the bed with her. I held her in my arms and squeezed her tight. “I love you…” I hugged her tigher. “I’m happy I’ve met you too. You’re like a sister to me V. I’ve always wanted a sister and I’ve never got my wish, until I came here and met you.”
“That’s sweet.” She kissed my cheek. “I love you too…big head.” I chuckled at her comment. She was forever calling me something. She’s the only person I’ve met that has a thousand names for someone. She out numbered my father by a long shot, although her names were cute and caring. My father’s were ingorant and petty. “You better get ready. You’re class starts at eight-thirty.”
“I know.” I looked down at my watch. I had an hour and a half to get ready. “I should hit the showers. You know it’s hard to get in there when everyone rushes in all at once.”
“True.” She looks around the room. “You’re towel’s in your drawer. I did the laundry yesterday. You also have some clean linen hanging on some fresh hangers.”
“Okay.” I rolled out of bed and ran over and grabbed my towel, wash cloth, and soap. I bolted out of the bedroom and ran in to the bathroom.
An hour later-Vicky and I were ready for school. Although she didn’t have a class that began as early as mine-she walked me to my class anyway. But, before we went inside, we stopped at the caf and grabbed something to eat. Thank god. I was starving. I decided to go with my favorite- a blueberry muffin with a cup of tea. I wasn’t a fan of coffee, because I was afraid that it would demage my teeth. Vicky on the other hand grabbed herself a coffee and a bagel. She disliked muffins. Why? I don’t know. I never asked. So, now we’re heading to class. Math of course. My favorite subject. She approached the class and peeked inside. It was vacant. So, we went inside. I sat down in the white section and she sat down beside me.
“What are you doing?” I was staring at her like she was crazy.
“I’m sitting down. What does it look like I’m doing?” She was angry by what I said, but she knew I was right. By her still sitting there made me a little nervous. Number one-if the class were to enter and see her sitting in the white section, that automatically will start a riot. I just bought a new outfit and I want to enjoy keeping everything in contact the way it is. Number two-she may just mess up my chance of sitting and talking with Tina. I know I’m light enough to get away with murder, but I’m already taking a big risk with trying to be underneath her. So when you think about it-I’m basically playing with fire here. I’m sorry, but she’s going to have to move.

How come Tina didn’t recognise Bette in the first place if she’s so special in her heart?
I love this story. These two are so into each other that they do not see the world around. That is the way it should be in any time period. A person should be able to love whom ever they want. Please post soon.

Lovely story, keep on writing.
This is really good! It started off heavy and now it is lightening up a bit…but it’s still deep. Thanks for having the courage to write it with the many critics on this board. GREAT work!!
