My Best Friend – Chapter 4

Closing the door behind her, Tina leaned her back against it. With a heavy sigh and tears running down her cheeks she took a quick scan of the room; noticing all the lights were off besides a soft glow coming from under Bette’s door. Not wanting to take the chance to run into Bette right now, she softly walked to her room. ‘I will take a shower in the morning,’ Tina thinking as she slowing closed her bedroom door behind her and changing into her pj’s.

With the low light coming from her the small lamp on her night stand, Better was writing in her journal. Hearing the front door open and close, she could only assume that Tina was home from her ‘date’. With the expectation of Tina to knock on her door, tell her hello and about her night; a sadden expression fell upon Bette’s face when she heard a soft click of Tina’s door shutting. It was not like Tina not to say hello at least before heading to bed.

Fear took over Bette’s mind as she thought something may have happened. Placing the leather bound journal back into her night stand, Bette got out of bed heading for Tina’s room. With a light knock on the door, "T, you there?" With no answer she tried the door knob, only to find that it was locked. ‘Hmm that is definitely not like her. She never leaves her door locked when she goes to bed.’ Lightly knocking again to see if she will answer, Bette fells her heart break a little when no response is given again. Feeling a little bit of defeat, she turns from the door and walks back to bed.

She couldn’t do it. Tina just couldn’t face Bette. Not yet anyways. How could she look at her and tell her what happened tonight when she couldn’t even say the words out loud to herself. Well she could say the words out loud to herself, she just could say the words out loud to Bette. Her heart was breaking also hearing Bette outside her door. Hearing her go back to her room, and blew out a sigh of relief knowing that she was in for the night and could feel the safety of her room, for the night anyways. Laying in bed, and turning the lamp on beside her Tina began writing her thoughts.
