“Hey babe you know I was worried about you the entire day, I kept on calling you but your phone’s off, good thing you sent me a text message that you’ll see me here at least it gave me the peace of mind…”
The brunette just continued talking while searching for the clothes, telling Sarah how her day went by not noticing that the English teacher was just sitting quietly staring at her.
“You know what? Principal Dawson told me that starting Monday, next week I’m going to be the new head of the history department so tonight I’m going to take you out because we are going to celebrate…”
“Bette…” Sarah cut her off
Bette stopped what she was doing when she heard Sarah’s voice, so sad and heavy. Without even putting on her top, she turned around and faced the English teacher. Her heart began to race fast the moment she saw Sarah’s glassy eyes. Bette immediately kneeled in front of her and held her face
“Baby what’s wrong?” the brunette asked worriedly
Sarah was trying her might to hold the tears that were threatening to fall down but the brunette’s soft hands cupping her face was making it difficult for her. She swallowed hard and gathered enough strength to look at her in the eyes
“Bette I’m gonna be gone for a while…”
The brunette furrowed her brows “What do you mean? Where are you going?”
“I’m going to take my master’s at Brown’s”
“Brown University as in Providence, Rhode Island?” the brunette asked, so surprised at the news
“Don’t get me wrong, that’s great news baby, but why so sudden?”
“This has been my plan for the last couple of years, I’ve told you before I want to teach in college but something was always holding me back but I think, I think this is the best time for me to do this…”
Bette felt the sadness washing over her, she wanted the best for her but as selfish, as it might sound, the thought of Sarah being away from her was something hard for her to imagine
“Baby I don’t want to be the person holding you back from pursuing your dreams but what about me? What about us?” Bette’s voice was breaking

Is it me or do some not pay attention to what they read? I’m just saying… If you read the whole story, its there. Whatever… Love is hard and requires work. I’ve not had the experience of falling in love with two people, but if I remember right Sarah was a long time infatuation of Bette’s way before Tina came on the scene. It was that the timing was off between the three women. B and T met too soon. But that’s my opinion. Thanks for the post.

phacey – two updates in one weekend? WOW!! I know most everyone reading and commenting on this story didn’t care for Sarah but I have more respect for her now than ever. She really let Bette off the hook easy and she did it in a loving, caring way. No ranting and raving or screaming or accusing. I’m glad that at least she felt Bette’s love to the extent that Bette could give it. I’m also glad that she’s leaving to pursue her career ambitions and not letting herself be held back by being hopelessly romantic and thinking that if she just tries harder Bette will learn to love her more. In time her heart will mend and she’ll open herself up to finding the right person who will love her as she deserves. The saddest part of this is that I don’t think Bette will ever know the kind of love that Sarah has for her even from Tina. She might have just let the love of her life go. I can appreciate that this is TiBette and I can appreciate that you want to keep your promise to bring them together but I’m really having a hard time believing that the journey they have taken so far has brought them such an all consuming love for each other that they would not have gotten together without taking this detour to break each other’s hearts and then two more hearts (Sarah’s and eventually Sam’s) to be together in the end. They met in a bar and almost had sex in the bathroom. Then they find out that they work together at the school. Then Tina finds Bette’s journal and reads about her sad life and that she’s a virgin. Then Tina makes a ‘business proposal’ to take Bette’s virginity. Once the deal is sealed Bette runs off to save her sister and comes back to a devastated Tina telling her she only wants to be friends. In the meantime Tina has supposedly fallen in love with Bette even though her motivation for going after Bette in the first place was sex and also wanting to compete with Sarah because she reads in the journal that Bette is infatuated with her. Bette gets a makeover and starts dating her dreamgirl and Tina can’t stand to see them together so she quits her job but before she does that she confesses her love to Bette. Bette’s reaction is that she doesn’t love her and she goes back to Sarah. Tina leaves the job so she doesn’t have to see Bette everyday and starts a new relationship with a highschool friend that confesses she’s always been in love with Tina even though Tina doesn’t love her back. Now that Tina is with someone else all of a sudden Bette realizes that she does love Tina and she confesses this to Sarah who then breaks up with Bette because she can’t compete with Tina for Bette’s heart. Now Sarah is out of the picture so we can look forward to another breakup between Sam and Tina. I knew reading this story was going to be heartbreaking for Sam and Sarah but my heart breaks for Bette and Tina too. Maybe they do have a heart connection and when they get together it will blossom into the greatest love of all. Like most TiBette stories by the end we won’t care how they got together as long as they do. Hope my rant today isn’t too overwhelming. Glad you had some time off to dedicate to writing. Hope to see another update soon. Dont’ let my comments scare you off!!

What a wonderful surprise to see a quick update on this crazy but oh soo good fic!!*doing a happy dance* ok i shudnt do that bec this is such a sad chap but what can i do i’m just happy lol! Anyway im a tibette fan but really feel sad for Sarah and Bette. However Sarah leaving Bette was the right thng to do, i for one wudnt want to share the one i love wit sum1 else, its all or nothng. But this other side of me is saying..One down and another one to go and you’re next Sam hahaha! 8-)

So Bette loves Sarah AND Tina? I’ll like to see how this pans out. If Bette does try to reach out for Tina, would Tina be able to accept that Bette loves someone else as well? I mean, Tina already knew Sarah was Bette’s love of her life so I’m sure it is hurting already. It’s so complicated. Now Tina probably has grown to love Sam as well; maybe not in love with Sam but surely there must be some parts of Sam that Tina really likes. I felt the dialogue between Bette and Sarah was a little confusing. So Sarah knows that Bette has very strong feelings for Tina? Would have liked some insight into that.
