Love Soul Heaven Hell – Chapter XVII

    She mouthed, "Bette says hi."

"Hi Bette!," Shane and Alice shouted.

Kit stood up shaking her head, then whispered to Tina, "say hi for me, too."

Tina said quickly, "Wait, honey, Kit says hi, too…. yeah, everything seems set for the opening in a couple of days."

Shane and Alice stood up and mouthed to Tina, "Thanks for lunch … see you for the dinner at Helena’s later?"

Tina nodded as she listened to Bette.

"So Yves likes the room set-up?  I told you he would.  So what’s Lara making for dinner?… uh huh… sounds delicious.  Cook it for me sometime?  Thanks, babe.  You’re the best, too."

Tina paused as she saw a message come in on her iPad from her team.

"Oh, honey, before we talk about anything else, I have some good news to share!  I think we won the rights to the new treatment Mila wrote!  Yeah, the one about the young wine merchant trying to pull a deal involving rare wines together for  a mysterious Asian client, who the audience will think, at first, is the villain, because of her ties to the criminal underground, when in fact it’s the other party of the deal that turns out to be the villain because he belongs to a bigger criminal network, even though on the surface he looks super legitimate.  And the wine merchant finds out, after she dares to keep doing some digging, that the rare wines prove to be just the tip of the iceberg of what this network is trading!"

"I know!   There are layers upon layers, and I haven’t even told you about the love triangle angle yet.  William is wild for it, and he’s pulling out all the stops to get it. I just now got a message that we only have a few things to clear up with Mila and her agents … then we can seal the deal!"

"Yes …  we will work on making sure we get the details right.  So your question just now about where the wines were stored is interesting because the treatment indicates the seller … you know, the one who appears legitimate … has other types of rare items.  And so it’s entirely plausible that all these items can be stored in a freeport somewhere, as you suggest."

Tina paused, calling up a memory.  "Bette, wait … remember that whole exchange you had with Marissa, and you were asking her about something about Geneva … then about Luxembourg?  Can you tell me more about how that whole system works?  It just seems so much is flying under the radar there."
