Love Soul Heaven Hell – Chapter III

“Wow, you don’t remember me at all do you?,” Cheryl was asking Bette, in a surprisingly warm and teasing tone.

Great, Tina thought.  Bette gripped Tina’s hand, and drew it halfway across her back, as she smiled back at Cheryl.  Tina gently caressed Bette’s arm.

Bette was shaking her head from side to side, clearly trying to place the woman’s name and face.  Cheryl picked up on the unconscious intimate gestures between the two.

“Okay, okay.  I get it, “she said, teasing again.  “You’re some kind of VIP now, so you’ve forgotten everyone in your past, is that it?”

Bette eyes flew wide open as she finally realized who the woman was.  “Oh my gosh, Cheryl???!”

She kept a hold of Tina’s hand, as she lightly half-embraced the other blonde with her other arm, laughing.

Bette was shaking her head laughing lightly as she exclaimed, “In my defense, you were a red-head before, when we…”

Cheryl was also shaking her head, and explained to Tina, “Bette and I dated when she first got to LA. It was intense and serious.  Well, to me, at least.  And yes, I was a red-head, then.”

Bette was still out-of-sorts, as Cheryl turned back to her, “It took me years to get over you Bette Porter!  Nobody could compare, after us, you know.  Hmm…even now I guess,” she paused, as if reflecting.

Then she exclaimed, “But look at you, girl!  Look at that body!,” as her eyes ran up and down Bette.  “Are you still a runner?”

She locked eyes with Bette, who smiled, but silently rejected her attention, and turned to look at Tina.  Tina coughed drily.

Cheryl gave Bette a half-smile, understanding the situation now.  “So…Tom said you were married?”

“On our way to our honeymoon, actually,” Tina responded, hazel eyes sending warning signals to the other blonde.

“Oh, wow!,” Cheryl exclaimed.  “We’re sorry that you had to divert your plans, then…”

Bette waived the protestations aside.  Then cut in, “Perhaps we can catch up later, Cheryl. But we’d like to know now where Mike is?  Is he alright?”

Cheryl didn’t respond immediately.  “Why don’t we go to your quarters, let you girls drop your stuff there, and freshen up if you’d like?  Not like you need, to, of course!  Looking as gorgeous as you do,” she laughed slightly.
