Love Revisted – Coming Home Part 48

It was one day not so long ago that Bette realized this child possessed the same ability to soothe her as Tina did.  The mere sensation of their touch could ease the tangled cords of stress in her body.   These two beings were her sanctuary of peace.   Rue the day anyone tries to harm either one of them.

Tina loved this routine of Bette’s with Angelica.  She would sometimes just watch Bette with the baby.   She remembered when they first got back together how much in awe she was at the changes Bette had made with her life.  Even though, she now knew that she had Bette’s total faith, Tina knew it was still a work in progress, but Bette kept trying and she never went back on any promise she had made during their reconciliation.

Even when they had their spats, they made every effort not to go to bed angry at one another.  Nothing was left unsaid.  They had been down that tortuous road once.  That was enough.   Unspoken in their new found commitment was the one awful truth they each accepted:  If they failed this time, there would be no other.  They had lain bare their souls – it was an all or nothing deal.   Their choice was clear – it would be All.

“All right, this little girl is sound asleep.  I guess all my mumblings knocked her out.  I’ll put her in the crib and be right back out.”

Tina knew ‘right back out’ meant at least another ten minutes.  She was on to her Bette.  She smiled and set the table.

    * * *

Helena Peabody sat in her living room fuming.  A ***** subpoena to testify?  She knew damn well Faye Buckley didn’t mention her name.  The woman’s too wrapped up in her hate and being a martyr for the cause.

She took a break from her seething, picked up the phone and booked a flight to Los Angeles for tomorrow afternoon.

What the ***** do they want me to testify about?  I was very careful.  I told no one about my lunch date with her.  It was not marked in my calendar or noted anywhere else for that matter.  So how would they even know about it?

I merely suggested that Bette’s choices in art and in life were understandably upsetting to a person of Faye’s convictions.  These ***** love when you remark about their ‘convictions.’  I didn’t tell her to take a *****’ knife and try to kill Bette.

Going into that lunch I knew she wasn’t happy about Bette and I just wanted to add a little fuel to the fire, but by the end of the meal I could see she through her words and body language she actually detested Bette Porter – a lot.

At one point during that lunch Helena was watching Faye Buckley’s mouth move and not even listening to the words being said, and slowly raised her glass, took a sip of wine and thought:

Very good choice of lunch date, Helena, if I may say so myself !  Why, thank you, Ms. Peabody This is good, very good for you – VERY, VERY bad for Ms. Porter.

I certainly said the right words to rile Buckley and knew they would incite her to want to create problems.  The dumb ***** didn’t know the proper limits though.

And if she knew I was one of those despicable Lesbians, she’d ***** her righteous pants.

I bet the other ***** Porter mentioned my name.  What a *****’ thorn in my side.   She’s like a cat that always manages to land on her feetyeah, well, guess what Porter – in case you hadn’t noticed – Helena Peabody is still standing, too.

She put the subpoena on the coffee table.  Right next to it was a picture of Tina and the baby as they left the hospital.  Her right hand went to the subpoena and her fingers were tracing an outline of the word “subpoena.”

E-nee, Mee-nee, my nee mo, looks like I have no choiceI have to go –

as Helena‘s perfectly manicured index finger landed on the photo of Tina Kennard.

    1. my first time to be able to comment on your story – I am hooked! Your love scenes are – well I can’t even put words to describe them. You get 5 stars from me and I’d give you 5 more if available! I don’t know who gave you 1 star, but it had to be a really big mistake. Please keep writing and give us more.

    2. Faye is crazy. I can’t wait ’til she gets rudely awakened at the trial. Bette’s sooo cute with Angelica! I’m so happy she’s changing her ways. Boy would I like to smack Hell in the head.

    3. I LOVE BETTE’S ROUTINE WITHE ANGELICA,IT’S BEAUTIFULL…HELENA AND FAYE ARE A BUNCH OF WACKOS!!!!GREAT JOB..PLEASE POST SOON…THANKS

    4. I wasn’t there at time to comment your last chapter, so I’ll do for both now : your story is such an intense mix of all contrasted feelings, that’s truly a great reading pleasure ! At the same time, you so magically depict our Bette and Tina’s unique bound, you perfectly draw any fanatic’s hateful and blind state of mind through Faye Buckley, as well as Nancy’s subtle intelligence and Helena’s fascinating machiavelism. That’s really a great, great job !

In this particular chapter, I had a special weakness for Bette’s so touching attempt of “emotional telepathy”… It recalls me this so unforgettable Jane Eyre’s scene, when Jane can “listen” Rochester’s voice through a far distance, as if their souls were making one.

And now I cannot wait for the trial !!
Thank you very much for your gift !

    5. Great chapter, everyone is saying that Faye is a psyco, but I (like her lawyers’s doctors) don’t give her that easy out. That Broad know exactly what she was doing and is consumed by her hate for Bette because of her own personal failings with her own daugther. She and Helena need to reep what they have shown. he is just going to crap in her pants when Nancy gets Helena on the stand and she has to admit that she is a lesbian. Maybe that is how thier lunch date will come out, because after Faye finds out that Helena is “one of them” it is going to be on, no holds barred. I fell so sorry for her lawyer because he will be caught up in a avalanche.
I to love Bette’s new routine at home and at work. I hope that she and Tina continue to work is a positive way on hier relationship so that they are able to fend off any and all negitive distractions. Hey, I know that youhave this story packed with all of this delicious drama, but we have not heard from the other girls for a while. Where is the crew (Dana, Shane and Alice).

    6. Faye and Helena are both just psychotic. Both of them have their obsessions with Bette & Tina respectively. They’re just insane.

I really like that Bette has a routine…it’s so “normal” it’s cute. LOL. Bette & Tina’s openness and willingness to fight for their marriage is great. It’s ALL or nothing! Powerful, and love is definitely powerful.

    7. hey acre. great chappy. grooving on evil talk. dont know what else to call it. kinda like how a schiophrenic feels, huh. i can say that cuz my son was one and not feel any hate from anyone right. thanks for the present.
