Dani and Bette were walking around the gallery for quite a while, she introduced her to some of the other people that she will be working with, she showed her the main gallery, and they were there for another 45 minutes. Bette was so immersed in the art work, she was explaining the different textures and mediums that were used, the colors, different strokes, she was going on and on.

Dani was so amazed by Bette, she had great passion and knowledge of art. The way Bette was talking about some of the pieces made Dani want to know more, she never felt that way before, but Bette had a different way of describing them.

Then Bette stopped at one piece and she didnt say anything. Dani noticed and she saw different expressions on her face. She saw an understanding in her eyes, then a sadness or regret, then it was like determination or something else. The picture was of quick sand, well thats what the title of it was, Dani wasnt sure what to make of it.

Bette are you okay?

Bette realized she hadnt said anything.

Yeah, Im fine, its just that this has a different effect

Well this painting is just an interpretation. This person has been through so much, you see the strokes here is like this person was scared or like they didnt care about anything, this person used such deep color like they have been defeated. Its just different

Why did he call it quick sand?

Well Im guessing that hes describing his lifeyou see one day youre living the life of your dreams and you think that everything is going finethen one thing goes wrongand anotherand anotherand you try to fight itbut the harder you fight backthe deeper you sinktill you cant move(she had a tear rolling down her cheek) you cant breath(wiping away her tears) because youre in over your headlike quick sand.

It was quiet for a moment

Bette noticed that she had gotten way too serious and this was not the way she wanted to start her new life.
