    Lost Sessions – Chapter 7

    ~~~~~
    Spring, 2008 – Dr. Foxworthy’s office, afternoon
         "Have your friends and family been supportive of your reconciliation with Tina?"
         "We haven’t seen a lot of them. Between work and Angelica, we’ve kind of fallen into old habits." Realizing her poor choice of words, Bette explained quickly, "I mean like staying in on the weekends, spending time together – just the three of us."
         "So you’ve been avoiding them," Dr. Foxworthy concluded.
         Bette was silent for a moment. "I guess I don’t want to hear what they’d probably say – that it’s a mistake, that it’ll just end badly … "
         "And are they wrong? These are the people who’ve known you longer than Tina – who’ve seen the worst of it. Did you ever ask for their help or support? Or did you drive them away like you said that you did with Tina?"
    Spring 2005 – Bette’s house, evening
         A small crash from the front porch made Bette look up from the kitchen. Then a muffled "Oh, crap" accompanied by more stumbling alerted her to Dana’s presence. She went to the front door and greeted her quietly.
         "Hey."
         "Hey!" Dana glanced over her shoulder awkwardly, encumbered by a large box in her arms. "I knocked over a potted plant. I’m pretty sure I didn’t break it … " She mustered a nervous smile. "I’m sorry, you’re probably busy: I should’ve called first."
         "You don’t hear the phone ringing, do you?"
         Dana looked down and stifled a sigh. Bette’s shoulders sagged apologetically before she stepped back to let her inside.
         "Sorry. Come on in."
         Dana observed the disarray around the house sadly as she followed her into the kitchen. Bette picked up a joint and lit it while Dana tried not to stare.
         "I’m out of beer," Bette said out the side of her mouth. She took a drag and offered it Dana, who shook her head.
         "No, I can’t, I’m supposed to get a random test sometime this month." Then off of Bette’s questioning look, "It’s not really a secret among the players." Dana set the box down on the counter. "I wanted to return your engagement present."
    1. so sad…so can we have a little more of the 2008 tina and bette to combat the sadness plz…after all living in the past and dwelling on the past is bound to cause depression…i’ve never been sure that rehashing one’s past ad infinitum is helpful except to the bank balance of the therapist…so tibette r together, that must be good, huh.
    2. I mean to say, most couples sort their stuff out b4 they get back 2gether; just as Tina and Bette did. And they didn’t need the therapist: in the end they just needed time alone in a lift!!!
    3. Is their hope for Bette and Tina or have they given up already? Dana was such a huge part of the show. The powers to be messed up in two major areas, 1) Bette and Tina and, 2) killing Dana off. I hope that Bette and Tina can be fixed and maybe Dana’s death is a nightmare.
    4. I’ve been watching some season 1-2 stuff, and this served as another reminder of just how much I miss Dana… Great stuff, LM, do post when you can. Thanks
