    T’was a few nights before Christmas

    LONG AND WINDING ROAD – Chapter 62

    Bette pulled the last of her shopping carriers from the car and took them into the house. Tina was standing in the kitchen putting things away. Bette went back outside and collected two more carrier bags and her briefcase before driving the car into the garage and locking it away for the night.

     

     

     

     

    She joined Tina in putting things away

     

     

    “You okay ? “ she asked

     

     

    “Be glad when these two are born “

    “Two weeks to go “ Bette said

     

     

    Tina touched her huge stomach – they were as active as ever

     

     

     

    “I don’t think I can get any bigger “

     

     

     

    Bette looked across “ I must admit you look bigger than you did this morning “

     

     

     

    “I feel it “

    “Where’s our boy ? “

    “In his playpen looking at the Christmas tree lights — they just fascinate him “

    “I thought I might get a little tree and put it in his nursery. Decorate it with lights — as you say he loves the tree “

     

     

    “Wait until next Christmas when he’s running around – we’ll have to put the tree in a cage “

    “Or put him in one “

    “And our daughters will be nearly one “

     

     

    “Lets just enjoy a quiet Christmas with Dan and our friends. Tomorrow is the last day I’m working “

     

    “Is it good business sense to close over Christmas ? “

     

     

     

    “We would make some money but the girls deserve a holiday and I do not want to be stuck in London when I can be with my family. James is going away as well so it makes sense “

     

     

     

     

    “Any more business from the exhibition ? “

     

    “Yeah – you’ll like this –we got a great write up on an internet site and we had a few calls from New York today — where do you want these ? “

    “Leave them out – I’ll cook them for dinner “

     

     

     

    They finished putting the shopping away and Bette took one of the bags that contained clothes and went through to the sitting room with Tina.

    3. Awww mini-Tinas. =) I admit I hoped they would be darker and that way Hendick definitely wouldn’t be the father. If he is and this story is ending shortly then I imagine it will be quickie drama. Cute names too!

    17. Hmmm, does it leave some potential for Henry to be the father? Hope not… enough drama for those two! Thanks for a “normal” birth, and for the funny banter during the delivery. Alice is gonna be thrilled about the name. Cooool! So now the family is finally complete!!! Well, what a long and winding road indeed…

    20. ally, I have to admit that I thought one baby was going to be like Tina and one bi-racial like Bette, heh, a little fraternal twin action…. looks like all has turned out well for the happy couple.
