Bette and Tina stared at each other trying to decide how to proceed.

Bette grew more desperate as she felt her chance of happiness slipping through her fingers but her fear of saying the wrong thing stopped her from saying anything.

Tina reminded herself why she was there.

She thought of Bettes letter and her plea for Tina to listen to her heart and stop letting her head get in the way.

She thought of the small but important changes shed seen in Bette since shed returned. And she knew in her heart that what she wanted was to be with Bette, as much as Bette seemed to want to be with her.

If this was going to work she needed to make the next move, she needed to show she was able to forgive and move on. That she was ready to trust Bette again.

She climbed onto Bettes lap and put her arms around her neck OK..heres what were going to do.. youre going to say sorry and that youre never going to do it again.. and then youre going to kiss me..and then were going to put this behind us.. she quirked an eyebrow Can you do that?

Bette nodded; relieved things seemed on the brink of being resolved. She spoke with as much sincerity as she could muster Im really sorry Tina, if I could take it back I would believe me I will never, ever, do it again..I know what its like to live without you in my life and I never want to go there again.

Tina listened to Bette, but it was Bettes eyes and voice that convinced her as much as the words shed spoken. She finally nodded You forgot to kiss me..

Bette smiled and lowered her mouth onto Tinas and gently brushed her lips T, I love you..I want us to be together

Tina sighed Do you know how much I missed your voice. How much I longed to hear you call me T.. just one more time. Ive never let anyone else call me that.

Good Bette brushed Tinas lips with her fingers, then her lips and finally her hunger consumed her.

So.. said Tina eventually, settling back into Bettes arms How are we going to do this?
