Alice was wandering around her apartment talking on her cell phone.

Yes, the show is tonight, so Ill be starting the story on the band and then the new Planet. There has been some major hype and a lot of people will be there. I heard that Brody Dalle will be there and Velvet from Velvets. Alice walked into her bathroom passing Andie who just sat and stared at the espresso machine, like she had come to do almost every morning. What do you mean you dont know who Brody Dalle and Velvet are? Are you like holed up in a cave constantly? Brody is from the punk group the Distillers and Velvet is a famous burlesque dancer. Shes like best friends with Dita von Teese. Jesus, I cant believe you dont know who these people are.

Andie had been quiet all morning and last night except for telling Alice what happened with Shane. Alice was a little upset with Shane, but she knew what Shane was doing.

Alice came out of the bathroom and saw Andie just peering at her coffee cup, stirring it over and over. Alice walked to her and patted her shoulder.

Hey, you gonna show me what you got to wear tonight? Alice said trying to get her mind off of things.

Umm, yeah. Andie got up and walked to where she had set down the bag and guitar the night before. She picked up the band and pulled out a smoky gray blue stretchy rayon shirt. It had unbelievably long sleeves with thumbholes. Around the tops of the sleeves were blue and gray ribbons that formed Xs down until they tied around each wrist. Alice gave her thumbs up.

But maybe it would be better if you showed a little more of those *****, dont you think? Alice asked. I mean I wouldnt wear it, but its very you. The color goes amazingly with your eyes.

Andie laughed. I thought you would say that. Andie turned the shirt around to reveal an extremely low cut V in the front. So low, in fact, that her ***** would definitely protrude from the shirt. Alice clapped her hands.

Now were talking! Alice grinned. What about pants?

You know that I have to wear the pin striped slacks. Andie started to pull them out.

Of course. Alice rolled her eyes.

Andie pulled out the black pants with the blue gray pinstripes and a blue and gray ribbon tied in Xs all the way down the hem. Alice grinned and began to pick up her things to go.

Ill see you tonight. Good luck, bitchy bitchy bitchy boo. Alice said kissing Andies cheek.

Thanks, you ***** trollop you. Andie kept her fake smile on until Alice was at the door getting ready to go out of it.

Babe, I know that fake smile. I dont agree with how Shane is handling this, but I remember a time when some one came into you life that could have been a good thing. You pushed her away. Maybe for the same reasons that Shane is doing it now. Alice said quietly.

Andie nodded and then stopped when she heard the door close.

Alice sighed as she closed the door and then walked down the stairs. She was looking in her bag for her keys, when she looked up Alices mouth dropped open. In front of her was Shanes truck with Shane in itasleep. Her face was smashed against her window. Alice grinned and decided it was time for one of her special wake up calls.

Oh look, Shane drools in her sleep. I bet no one knows that. Alice thought to herself.

She sat down her bag and cleared her throat before suddenly pounding on the trucks window.

Shane! Wakey, wakey! Alice yelled and then pulled the door open. Shane fell out of the truck and immediately woke up. Alice stood over her laughing.

What the *****? Shane groaned looking up at Alice.

That wasnt very smart, what do you think, you live in some quiet little midwestern town? You live in ***** L.A. Shane! You cant sleep in cars with your door unlocked. Alice said crossing her arms over her chest. And you drool when you sleep.

Shane stood up, Doesnt everyone?

I dont know, but you definitely do. Sowhy are you down here. Im guessing youve been here since last night? Alice leaned against the truck.

Shane nodded. How is she?

Hurt. Alice said simply.

Shane ran her hands through her short hair. I fucked up.

Yep. Alice said.

Thanks, Al. Shane glared at her.

Im not going to lie to you. Yeah, you fucked up, Shane, but you can fix it. Go up there and tell her what you really want to tell her. Whatever it is. She deserves to be happy, Shane. So do you. Alice picked up her bag and hugged Shane. Go on.

Alice winked at Shane and drove off in the mini.

Shane looked up at Alices window, she thought could still feel the impact of Andie’s shove the other night when she told her that she wasn’t that dumb when some thing real might be right in front of her. The words echoed in her mind. She then decided that it was time to stop being that dumb, too.

Andie was sitting at the table eating a bagel. She was lost in thought, when she heard a knock at the door. Andie wondered if Alice had forgotten her keys like every morning. She hopped up, forgetting that she was in her black boi shorts and tank top, still. Andie opened the door with a smile on her face.

Allie, your keys Andie fell silent when she saw Shane standing in the doorway. Andie looked Shane up and down, realizing that Shane was still in the clothing that she wore the day before.

Andie. Shane stepped toward her, while Andie took a step back. Before Shane could say anything else, the phone in Alices apartment rang. Andie did not move, she only stayed staring at Shane. They heard Alices answering machine kick on.

And, are you there? Ok, look, I dont know if you know this yet or not, but Shane was in her truck outside all night. I found her downstairs sleeping in her truck. I just thought you should know. Oh, hey she drools in her sleep. Just a heads up for the future. Bye. Alices voice rang out across the apartment.

Andie snickered and then looked at Shane who rolled her eyes.

AndieI fucked up. Andie stared at her. Shane swallowed hard, her chest heaving up and down. I have been hurt before. Im scared of feeling something for some one and finding out that they dont feel the same for me.

But I Andie started.

Please, let me tell you this. I waited in that truck all night fighting with what I should tell you. You were right I am a coward when it comes to feelings. I wanted to tell you that I feel like Im whole when Im around you. God, that sounds so ***** corny. How corny is it that I watched you sleep, the other night? Shane started babbling.

Andie interrupted. Shane? You watched me sleep?

Yeah, I know its creepy. But what you had told me that night, it just made me think that you were one of the strongest people that I had me Andie suddenly kissed Shane passionately, pulling her into the apartment. The door stayed open.

Shane broke the kiss. We should close the door.

Andie wrapped her arms around Shane neck, ***** the door. Kissing Shane again with all that was in her.
