“I don’t know.” She said taking the bear back from Dana. “What did Tucker get?”

“He got a bear dressed in Pajamas.” Ryan said.

Jess crossed the room and crawled into Bette’s lap.

“Can we hang our stockings up now?” Jess asked.

“We better.” Tina said. She got and went into the other room and returned in a moment with a box full of stockings.

“Everyone has one.” Tina said. She passed out the stockings with to everybody. Tina had put every ones names on a stocking the night before. Everyone hung theirs up on the mantel one by one.

“We better get Tucker to bed it is way past his bedtime.” Chris said walking back into Jess’s room, where they were sleeping.

“Are we all eating Christmas lunch at the Planet tomorrow.” Kit asked.

“I can’t I have to be at my parents at 3 tomorrow.” Dana said.

“The 5 of us are.” Tina said walking back from the trash can. She sat next to Bette.

“Us too.” Lilly said.

“Me too” Added Shane.

“Great” Kit said.

“What are we having?” Jess asked sleepily. It was 10 and way past her bedtime but Bette promised that she could stay up as long as she wanted.

“We are going to have a lot of the same things we had at thanksgiving.” Kit said.

“Oh” Jess said leaning her head back against Bette’s shoulder. She watched Lilly kiss Alice on the ear as she whispered something in it. Jess smiled.

“Let’s play a game.” Dana said.

“What game?” Bette asked.

“I am going to start and we each add a word until some can’t add a word or can’t repeat the sentence.” Dana said.

“What is the catch?” Tina asked.

“The loser has to pick truth or dare.” Dana said.

“oh sounds like fun.” Kit said.

“everyone in?” Dana asked. Everyone but Bette said okay.

“I am going to get Jess to bed.” Bette said. Jess was half asleep. Bette and Jess stood up. Bette took Jess’s hand and led her into their bedroom.

Jess crawled into the middle of the bed. Bette covered her up.

“Mom will you stay with me until I fall asleep and tell me a story like you used to.” Jess asked holding her new bear in her arms.
