    Author Notes:

    Bette and Tina’s first date ever (the before and after part included).

    “Yes, I will call you once I’m home tomorrow,” Tina felt a tiresome burden as soon as these words escaped her mouth. “Yeah, we’ll go out for dinner or something. You decide.”

    A few more minutes of this conversation, which seemed to have no meaning whatsoever, and Tina hung up the phone. She felt as though someone had pierced her heart with a sword, for she couldn’t remember ever feeling so vulnerable, emotional and subjected to self-pity. Not since she was in high school, anyway.

    However, Eric mustn’t sense that something is wrong. That something had changed. Why would he, actually?

    Ever since Eric brought her to the new gallery opening, Tina didn’t feel herself as content and peaceful as she had been feeling for several months before that. She liked the fact that she had a good job that let her meet different people with versatile mind abilities, she liked that she had a boyfriend, who listened to her every word and seemed to admire her every movement and every breath of hers, whole-heartedly. After all, isn’t that something to aspire to? So why would she stop liking that, why would she have something else on her mind, something else that wouldn’t allow her to be in peace with herself, something else that would cast a shadow on her feelings to Eric?

    It’s unbearable.

    Tina has never ever fallen for a woman and this thought alone sounds ridiculous and makes her smile. But then she ponders upon it and doesn’t find it all that amusing anymore, for falling for a woman might be the thing she’s about to experience. God, please, don’t let this happen!

    When Tina saw her, the world disappeared behind the curtains of her mind and she felt her breath to be gone for a moment to let her come to her senses. She was shaken. Tina felt some kind of connection to her right away. Or maybe attraction? Tina would give everything to be oblivious to it and pretend it didn’t happen. If somebody ever told her, she would be liking a woman and thinking of her constantly and playing different situations with her over and over in her head, Tina would laugh it off and say it’s something that is never going to happen. Never say never, right?
