Over the next week, Bette and Tina keep talking at the cafe. It’s been a slow week so not many people have been in there at the same time so Tina has had the possibility to talk more with Bette during the hour she spent there. They’ve been talking about all and nothing, just every day stuff and some more personal and private, but not too deep.
Bette is getting ready to leave, Tina sees her from the kitchen and walks out and reaches Bette just before she exits.
“Hey Bette, hold on.” Tina says and hurries up to her.
“Hi, what’s up?” Bette asks as she looks into Tina’s eyes.
Suddenly Tina became very nervous.
“Well… I…. I was wondering if you’d like to go out with me sometime?” Tina says quickly, holding her breath for Bette’s answer. Bette’s face also turns serious. She looks down for a moment and then up again.
“I would like that, yes.” Bette says. Tina let’s out the breath.
“Great. I’ve been meaning to ask you since the first time I saw you, but didn’t have the courage to do it.” Tina says and blushes a little.
“I’m glad you finally found the courage.” Bette replies with a smile.
“Me too. So maybe this weekend? Friday maybe? I get off from work at eight.” Tina says.
“Perfect. Why don’t you come by the gallery and we’ll go from there?” Bette suggests.
“Perfect.” Tina says and blushes a little more.
“Good, I have to go, I’m going out of town tomorrow, won’t be back until Friday morning, so I’ll see you at my gallery at eight thirty?” Bette says.
“I’ll be there.” Tina says. Bette softly rubs Tina’s arm before she exits the cafe and towards her gallery.
“See you then Ms. Porter.” Tina whispers mostly to herself. She gets back to work.
The days until Friday went by slowly for Tina. Not seeing Bette, made her feel somehow alone. It was a strange and new feeling. She realized that she actually was missing Bette, missed talking to her, missed seeing her everyday. But finally Friday was there and Tina was excited as a little girl on christmas morning. She finished school early today and went straight home before work. She had to pick out an outfit for tonight. She went through her whole closet, and settled on a pair lowcut blue jeans and a white laced sleeweless top, and a black blazer on top. She packed the clothes into her bag and went off towards work. She was getting more and more nervous about the date.

Poor Bette! Seven years is a long time. Hope Tina can help her get over her grief.
Im hearbroken for bette,but tina will help her threw her pain to make it lessen.p.p.s.
I feel bad for Bette, but know that Tina will help make things right with her world again.Also glad that Tina doesn’t seem to care what her friends may think, hopefully they won’t change their opinion of her.
I am loveing this story! It was very sad to hear about Bette’s loss, I know Tina will be there as a great friend or more if they both let it happen.
I figured maybe Bette had a partner who died. A child didn’t even come to mind. Ouch! Hopefully Tina’s friends will be cool with her and Bette being together. And hey! Bette has already said she wants a second date. That alone is pretty bold at the start of the first date. :)

theres my janey bearrrr!!!! omfg my bella u had me crying in this!!! i didnt like it that i was crying, now im gonna have to come n get u for sure!!oh u never cease to amaze me ya know?? i had this feeling deep down that u were gonna do something like this to bette, but when i found out she had a baby i was like holy mosessss….. If they a true friends to Tina then after the initial shock wears off then they will be okay with her decision to be with Bette. Tina will be good for Bette.
Lauren25 I love this as well as the rest of your stories. I have been reading them over the last few weeks,my favorite of them all is Realizing. Do you think that we might see achapter or two of it soon? I also wouldn’t mind seeing something on Ac,amtl and Tc&ti. Hope to see a post soon.

I kinda like this version of Bette. Her self assuredness still comes through but she doesn’t seem as overwhelming with the melancholic state she’s in. Interesting mix. And good on tina for taking some risks and knowing when to take charge! PPS
