Mrs. Patterson walks up beside and taps her on the shoulder and motions for Jess to follow her. Once in the hallway Mrs. Patterson lays into Jess. “Jessica I thought you had learned your lesson after the last time.”

“But I was laughing at what was happening outside not at Billy. I am sorry please don’t call my mom. I promise I will behave.” Jess begged. ” I am sorry you know the rules you have already had three chances. Lets go to Miss Browns office.”

Bette shows Mr. Fox shakes hands with Mr. Fox. “Well Bette I am glad we could finally work this thing out. When will my pieces be delivered to my home?” Bette smiles as she walks with him to the door. “It should be there with in the week. I hope you enjoy them.” James walks up behind Bette and stops about five feet away from them. Mr. Fox walks out and Bette turns around obviously pleased with herself for succeeding in selling a large amount of art work to Mr. Fox. “Oh James oh scared me” she said after she jumped after being startled. “Bette, there is a phone call for you” Bette turned to look at the main gallery which was growing emptier by the day. “Take a message will you?” James hesitated “It is the school” with those words Bette turned on her heels and her radiant smile turned into a frown. “Is everything okay?” she asked knowing that her mischievous kid had gotten in trouble again. “I don’t know they said they need to speak with you and would wait until you could come to the phone.” Bette walked briskly to her office and picked up the phone. James watched from the door way. Bette hung up the phone, picked up her purse and headed for the door. “James will make sure that this gets into the mail today.” She handed him a large envelope and walked out.

Jess sits alone outside the principles office slumped down in a wooden chair. She immediately sits up strait when she sees Bette walking down the short hallway. “I wasn’t laughing at him I promise.” Bette looks disappointed and knocks opens the door. Jess follows her in. “Ms. Porter, you’re here. Please come in.” Miss Brown says as she motions for the two of them to come into her office. “What happened this time?” asked Bette dreading the answer.
