    Alice and Dana visit Dana’s parents; Bette is confused by her TA; Tina uses her power of persuasion to get her way; Shane struggles to cope, despite Dana and Alice’s attempt to help; and Helena and Lara carry on, in more ways than one.

    The phone went straight to voicemail. It was easier than trying to summon the energy to pretend that everything was fine. Shane wondered idly which part of her life was real. Was it the way she felt when she was with Beth? Or was it the way she felt every other waking moment of her life? She’d taken to avoiding her friends as much as possible because she knew they would call her on this shit in a heartbeat. She’d even been blowing off her appointments with Dr. Lynch. At least with Beth she didn’t have to fake it and she could almost forget the singular effort it took to get her ass to dial the phone, let alone get out of the house.

    “Hey Yoda,” Alice said. “We’re coming over on our way back from Dane’s parents. Either return this call or you better be there.” Alice paused. “Seriously Shane, you’re making me worry. I need to see you, okay?”

    Shane deleted the message with a heavy sigh and resigned herself to the inevitable. In her head she tried to figure out what it would take to straighten up the place, but she couldn’t make herself move from the sofa. She decided everything could wait until later, rolled over and willed herself back to sleep.

    It wasn’t just that coffee was off limits, it was the fact the mere thought of coffee was sickening. Dana hadn’t ever really been a connoisseur of the java, but now just knowing she couldn’t have it made her crave it.

    “You can’t have sushi either, but you’re fine with that.” Alice tried to be supportive.

    “And you still can’t play the damn violin,” Howie chimed in as he dutifully dumped his cup into the sink.

    In spite of her momentary discomfort, Dana smiled.

    “At least I didn’t take three years of lessons before finally grinding out Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on an innocent instrument.”

    “Is that any way to speak to the future father of Alice’s baby?” Howie grinned evilly. “Speaking of which, have you broken that part of your little plan to Mom and Dad yet?”

    “We have, as a matter of fact,” Alice answered quickly, rubbing small circles on Dana’s shoulders. She wasn’t about to let this get out of control. “Before we even asked you.”

    1. Loved it, but that goes without saying since I always do. That Nadia’s just asking for Tina to open a can of whoop-ass, methinks. I’m worried about Shane, I hope she can calm down and stop beating herself up over something that hasn’t happened yet. The Danish scenes were great, I love it when Alice gets all protective. And the closing scene was just wow.

    4. This update was fantastic. I love Bette and Tina. I look forward to the smack down that Tina will deliver to Nadia. I totally love Alice and Dana and the protectiveness that Alice is showing. I am a bit worried about Helena and Lara, but hope to see them figure out how truly important they are to one another. And our Shane, I hope she gets her ass back to therapy and stops punishing herself. Hopefully Beth can help her see the good in life.

I’m still worried about Lara and Helena. I think they need to talk before the end up losing each other. Nadia == Bitch. Tina and Bette seem very strong right now. I don’t think the TA is going to get anything but a kick in the ass from Tina. I hope Shane gets her head out of her butt, gets back to therapy, and pursues things with Beth. She needs to quit punishing herself. Hot! Hot! Hot! Danish scene at the end. Glad to see that the pregnancy has not impacted Dana’s nightly groping. Probably not as glad as Al is, though.
