Laws of attraction Chapter 2
She preffered to avoid the question and went straight to the point.
– Let me just say bye to my friends and I’ll be here in a sec. My bike is over there, just wait for me.
The girls weren’t too thrilled about Shane leaving because it was still early. But knowing Shane she had probably found some girl and was going to her house, it wasn’t a big deal. Shane found Carmen outside and ride peacefully to her house.
– I told you you didn’t have to worry. Nobody’s in the street at this hour plus I’m a great rider.
– if you say so.
– Yeah. Well, here we are. Home sweet home. Make yourself comfortable.
Do you want something to drink? beer? I have some weed if you want…
– uhm… I’m not too fond of alcohol and drugs… I don’t want to go to hell you know…
– Hey, hey, hey. Nobody will go to hell just for a beer or a joint. I mean, I know you believe in god and all, but trust me in this: take it easy with him. I have some water anyway. Do you still have your books? There’s a couch over there and a table where you can put them.
– Okay.
At the begininng Carmen was still shy and uncomfortable but after some time and a lot of work from Shane to make her relax, she began to tell Shane all about the frog while the slender girl listened carefully and even made a few jokes. They got along pretty well actually and reached a point where the two of them were comfotable with each other. So comfortable that Shane dared to ask why was Carmen so afraid of going back to Texas. Carmen kept silent for a while but Shane was a pusher. She then simply told her “I don’t want to live on the streets again. Texas would mean that” and that was enough. Was enough talking about the topic and enough for Shane.
After Carmen told her everything, she started writing non stop trying to do her best. Shane was lazy that was for sure, but she wasn’t dumb. In fact she was pretty smart if she wanted to.
