    Landslide: Chapter 3

Tina walked into the gym, her bag on her shoulder and a depressed look on her face. It was late, and there was hardly anyone there. She could hear the late aerobics class still going on, a class that she was usually in, but had stayed a few extra hours at the office to get started on a new project. She headed to the locker room and got changed. Tina decided shed just ride one of the bikes for a while, as she didnt feel like messing with the weights. She put her head phones on started pedaling. Tina closed her eyes and she was transported to a deserted road that was still wet from an early morning rain and lined with trees that were changing color. She pedaled faster, praying the road would take her away from the life she used to love, and to a place with less pain. She was alone, utterly alone, and her tears started to fall. Tina could feel the warm sun on her skin as in broke through random clouds. She had to do something to get away from Bette; she needed to find herself again. Tina felt a tap on her shoulder, and suddenly she was back in the gym. Not only were there tears pouring down her face, there was sweat mixed with them as well. She had been riding for almost an hour and hadnt noticed when the aerobics class had ended.
Tina found the source of the tapping right away and took off her head phones. Zoe, the new aerobics instructor, was standing over her. She had only been teaching about a month, so she didnt know much about Bette and Tinas breakup. All Zoe knew was Tina always seemed really sad. Everyone at the gym really enjoyed Zoes teaching style, and she was extremely friendly. She was also gorgeous. Tina never saw Zoes dark, well-toned stomach covered. When she was teaching, Zoe usually just wore a sports bra and track pants. Her hair dark hair was cut short in the back, but there were longer pieces in the front and she usually wore the longer pieces in cute little pony tails when she was teaching. Tina had assumed that she had some Hispanic blood by looking at her, but shed never actually asked. Zoe had dark eyes that sucked anyone in and a smile that could light up the room. Right now, however, she looked pretty worried.
We missed you in class today Tina. Is everything okay?
Tina wiped her face quickly, trying to make it look like she was simply wiping away sweat.
Oh yeah, there was some stuff I had to get finished at work. I really could have used a good workout.
Zoe eyed her for a second and grinned, Oh, I dont know about that. You look fine and in perfect shape to me. Her grin got bigger, and Tina looked up and noticed a very flirtatious look in Zoes eyes. Tina couldnt help but smile back at her. Zoe blushed and looked away.
Thanks, said Tina, who was trying not to start blushing as well.
Zoe breathed a small sigh of relief. What she had said was very true, but she hadnt meant to just blurt it out like that. When she saw Tinas smile though, Zoe just wanted to melt. Tina, would you like to go to lunch sometime?
Tinas breath caught in her throat. She wasnt sure she was really ready to date anyone. But, hadnt she just been thinking that she needed something to help get her mind off Bette?
    Tina hesitated, Sure.
Zoes face lit up. Theres this restaurant called Versailles in town. They serve Cuban food I think. Would you like to meet there tomorrow at one?
Alright, Ill be there, replied Tina feeling more confident. She wrote down her number, and got Zoes, and double checked on directions to the restaurant. Zoe headed home, but Tina stayed to cycle for a little longer.

Bette woke up nervous Saturday morning. She felt like she was going to be sick. She had been thinking about what she was going to say to the gang since she had gotten off of the phone with Alice. What she was really nervous about though, was whether or not Tina was going to show up. There was another feeling on top of all that, and she couldnt quite figure out what it was.

Alices alarm went off right at nine. She needed something perfect to wear to Bettes meeting. Dana was going to be there and she had to look great. She shopped for a few hours, and when she got home at twelve she had five bags in each hand. Something she had gotten was bound to work for later. She set everything down and then realized that she wasnt alone in her apartment. Alice could hear Tina moving around in the bedroom. Alice felt a twinge of guilt; she hadnt told Tina about Bette needing to talk to everyone. She just didnt know how to bring it up. Alice decided shed better at least try. She knocked on the door, and after she heard Tina yell for her to come in, she opened the door. Alice tried to stop the shocked look that she knew was on her face, but she couldnt help it. Tina looked amazing. Her hair was down and in small, loose curls. She had on black low-heeled shoes, black pants that were fitted in the waist, but were loose in the leg, and a baby blue sheer top with a tank top underneath.
Tina laughed at Alices expression. Does that mean I look okay?
You look amazing! Whats the occasion?
Ummm, well, Tina wasnt sure if she wanted to tell Alice that she was going on a date, but she decided it was better not to lie to her, I have a lunch date today with the aerobics instructor.
Alices eyes lit up, Oh really, where are you guys going?
This restaurant called Versailles. She said they serve Cuban food, but Ive never heard of it.
Oh, that sounds nice, said Alice. She wasnt quite sure how Bette would take that, and she had a feeling she was going to end up being the one to tell her.
What are you doing this afternoon, Tina asked.
Well, Bette asked everyone to meet her today at two. She has something to tell everyone.
Oh, said Tina, mildly hurt at not being let in on the big secret.
Alice hurried on, She told me to ask you, but not to push it. I was just about to tell you about it, but you looked so hot I completely lost my train of thought.
Tina grinned, Well, even if I didnt have plans, Im not sure if Im ready to be around her yet. Youll let me know whats going on, right?
    Of course!
Tina looked at her watch. It was twelve thirty; she really had to go, because she had never been to this place before. She told Alice goodbye and left her to get ready, while she went to meet Zoe.

Alice tried on every outfit again, and finally decided on a black skirt with a light green top. She pulled her hair up in a messy, but very ***** ponytail and found her glasses. She grabbed everything and walked out the door. She was running late. Alice was supposed to meet Dana at her place, because Alice wasnt exactly sure where it was and apparently they could walk from Danas. At five till two she pulled up at Danas, who walked out when she heard the car door slam. Dana was wearing a floral print knee length dress. She looked awfully attractive with her hair blowing in the wind, and Alice had to work extremely hard to control herself. They started walking towards the restaurant, neither one saying very much.

Shane was standing outside the new restaurant. She had never tried Cuban food before so she was excited about trying something new. She saw Alice and Dana walking up.
    Hey Shane.
    Hows it going, Dana asked.
    Not bad, not bad.
No sign of Bette yet, Alice asked.
    Nah, not yet.
Alice took a minute to look around; she froze when she saw the name of the restaurant, Versailles. Just then Bette walked up with Kit.
Is everything okay Al, you look a little pale, Bette asked.

    1. Hey Virgo… I’m just playing catch up with all 3 chapters here. Just so you know I am all for BnT to be back together what can I say I’m a hopeless romantic but that does not mean I can’t appreciate a good story YES even if BnT are not together as a couple in it. In my book… a well-written story with a good plot is well written story with a good plot…PERIOD! That said please continue writing your story and thank you for sharing.
