Keep Bleeding Love Ch.20
Alice woke first, lifting Dana’s arm and kissing her palm before getting out of bed. She quietly grabbed a pair of sweat pants and a tank top, then idled out into the kitchen, stumbling in the dark. She flipped on the light above the stove, rubbing sleep out of her eyes. She giggled upon seeing the clock flash 2:38a.m. "Geeze, I hope Dana sleeps through the night, she always complains about pulling all nighters." She stretched, and decided to go unpack the car.
Grabbing the keys off the counter she threw on a pair of flip flops and headed outside to get the car unpacked. It was extremely dark out, but she got to Dana’s car easily, and grabbed her ipod out of the center console, immediately flipping it to her Paramore playlist. She started bobbing her head as she grabbed the suitcases out of the car, putting them on the ground for her air guitar solo of CrushCrushCrush.
After her "sweet ass solo" as she often told Dana it was, she swept up the suitcases, locked the car and turned her ipod up to fullblast. She half-danced her way to the front door, pushing it open with her hip, and stumbled into the living room setting all of the suitcases down. Her ipod flipped to That’s what you get by Paramore and Alice jumped up and down, excited about the song blasting into her ears. She jumped up on the couch with the remote and began singing.
"Well no sir, I don’t wanna be the one to blame, not anymore. It’s YOUR TURN, so take a seat we’re settling the final score." She threw her arms up in the air and began moving to the music, lip syncing it now. As the chorus came up she jumped off the couch in guitar mode, slamming on the strings of the guitar that wasn’t there. She was down on her knees, leaned back, giving the imaginary guitar hell.
Dana woke up, stretching and grabbing her crutches, hobbling around the room getting shorts, a bra, and making her way into the kitchen. She saw the luggage sitting on the floor and knew what Alice had been doing. Dana hopped her way over to the fridge and grabbed some milk. She heard a light thud, and looked towards the living room to see Alice on her knees in a guitar solo. She had to fight back the giggles that were threatening to escape. She noticed the earbuds in Alice’s ears and smiled.
She hoisted herself up on the counter to watch Alice. The ipod must’ve changed songs, because a small smile broke out across Alice’s face as she bobbed her head and held a fist in the air pumping it to the beat Dana could barely hear. It sounded familiar.
"Maybe if my heart stops beating, it won’t hurt this much. And never will I have to answer again to anyone. Please don’t get me wrong, I will never let this go, but I can’t find the words to tell you." Dana recognized Never let this go by Paramore was spilling from Alice’s lips as danced her way around the living room. Alice bowed to the imaginary crowd that was the TV and broke out into a drum solo.
After her solo she spun in a circle real fast, stopping when she saw the brunette sitting on the counter, watching her with a small smile playing on her lips. She turned a hot shade of red and snatched the earbuds from her ears, fumbling with her ipod to turn it off. She bowed her head with a shy smile. "How long have you been sitting there?" Dana smiled bigger.
"Long enough to fall more in love with you." Alice looked up and smiled. She walked over to Dana, still perched on the counter and gave her a kiss. The journalist nodded towards the luggage. "C’mon Dane, let’s get unpacked." She peeled herself away from the tennis player, grabbed the suitcases and walked to the bedroom with Dana’s consistant click click click of the crutches behind her.
They sat cross-legged across from each other giggling at Alice’s Paramore concert. "It was cute babe." Alice blushed again. "You weren’t supposed to see me." They made light conversation while they unpacked, enjoying each other’s company. As they wrapped up, the sun had made its rise, bringing pale, small beams of light across the carpet in Dana’s room. "Hey, Al. Let’s go grab some breakfast at the Planet."
