It’s Always Hard To Say Good-Bye ch.3
One week and 5 days earlier
The fact that I have only been smiling for the past two days, is because I am going to New York, because I got a job away from LA; should not be making me happy. But it is and what can I say, life has mysterious ways of telling you things.
Throwing my bag down and grabbing a beer from the refrigerator. The cold liquid burns my throat. I am going to need this, because I know that my happiness is about to become not so happy.
Dana will be here in an hour. One hour and then I am going to end the best relationship of my life. Because I am a stupid, insecure, freak.
Three beers and fifty-nine minutes later the loud knock at my door, throws me out of my intense thoughts, of how to break up with Dana nicely. In truth there is no nice way to break up with the love of your life.
I was going to give her a key to my apartment, but then Lara showed up, and I kind of was too scared to. I thought, that maybe Dana would think I was doing it because I was jealous. I just wanted her to have a key. So that she could let herself in when ever she wanted too. I wanted my home to be her home. I guess it was a good thing I never did, since I am ending it with her. It makes me want to cry so badly, I never thought that it would hurt this bad losing her.
Walking to the door my heart is pounding. I should have drunk more. This would be so much easier if I had. My hands shake as I open it.
Hey Al! she looks so beautiful tonight. She always looks beautiful. I am terrified to look her in the eyes. Afraid that she will see what I have in store, that she will be able to read my thoughts, by taking a glimpse into my eyes. So I do the only thing I can do. I pull her close, covering her mouth with mine. Kissing her slow then with more passionate. Tugging at her lip, sucking lightly. Expressing all that I have been feeling for the past couple of months, into that one kiss. Knowing that it might be the last, I hold on for as long as I can. Wanting to memorize her taste, and touch. Well Hello, to you she smiles at me wickedly. She places her hands on my hips, pulling me away from any thoughts I am thinking.
