Is it Finally The End of The Road – Followup Chapter 1

Sensing that Tina was struggling, Bette tried to prod her along. "What kind of feelings?"

Tina raised her head, her voice soft and tentative. "Feelings about men." Not knowing what else to add to that, Tina sat silently waiting for Bette’s reaction.

Fuck….Bette just kept trying to breath, not wanting Tina to see her cry. Not over this, God dammit, I will not let her see me cry. She closed her eyes for a moment, struggling to not allow her initial reaction to come exploding out…knowing that wasn’t going to help anything.

Well, she thought. That certainly explains the way she has been treating me lately. Bette would have been lying if she said she didn’t know something important was going on with Tina. I mean, you would be crazy to think everything was okay when you tell your partner twice that you are going to miss them, and don’t get a reaction either time. Or, when you come right out and ask her if she even cares if you sleep with someone else, and are met with absolute silence. Yet, even knowing that something was clearly amiss, Bette was stunned by Tina’s admission that she now had feelings for men. Feelings for another woman, fine…understandable even…but, not once in the last nine years had Tina ever expressed an interest in men sexually…not once. Her attractions… her politics had very clearly been those of a lesbian.

Bette remembered the night they had invited a local artist named Mike into their home on the pretense of having a ménage a trois. And, even though their attempt to get Tina pregnant was derailed when Mike insisted on using a condom, Tina had soothed Bette’s insecurities about her being turned on by him, and had shown Bette the evidence of her desire, making it clear that evidence was because of Bette…not him.

Yet now here they sat…Tina’s stunning declaration still hanging heavily in the air.

After several minutes, Tina thought she was going to be physically ill. She could see that Bette had been shocked by her admission, and could tell she was trying to get a grasp on her feelings.

Finally she heard the quiet calm voice of the women she knew she was hurting with every word out of her mouth.

    1. i don’t remember reading this before and as much as i hated season 3, i’m glad you gonna post again because i know you’ll make it better…but something wrong with the format and last 10 pages are a bunch of gibberish LOL

    2. I remember this from before because I’ve read everything you’ve written on this site. I LOVE your writing and I’m glad you are continuing this story. Season 3 caused MUCH anger…and physical illness….for me just like it did for everyone with a heart and brain! I hope you will continue to give us updates…revisits…to If It’s Meant To Be as well. It’s one of 3 or 4 that I re-read just for the hell of it. It always makes me feel good when I’m finished. Again, I’m glad you’re posting again and hope that you’re able to do so regularly. Many thanks for sharing with us.

    3. Ohhh!! And thanks for getting ZuZu’s Petals to update her story too. I loved it and was disappointed that it wasn’t finished. I have anymore to look forward to! Thank you!

    4. Wasn’t season 3 the biggest abuse of the viewers psyche! I just dreaded seeing what the writer’s were going to throw out there next. I know you will help alleviate some of that angst with a story that makes some sense! Thank you and please post soon.

    5. Welcome back Seahurst – I know we are in for a treat. Off to a great start, even with my disappointment that the final 6 pages were not, in fact, part of the story :-(

    6. OMG…I am an emotional mess right now. I may even have to reread it…Wow…It is so amazing to have you back…Thank you…and PLEASE post again soon.

    7. Wow this is intense. I like it. A little season three with a little season five mixed in, very nice. Hope it all works out in the end. I like stories like this that deal with their thought process and emotions. I like the way Bette dealt with it. Better than she did in the series. You should never tell people bad new when you are in bed together. Bed should be for sleep and happy memory making. So please keep it coming and I’ll keep on reading. Thanks PPVS

    8. I do remember the story and I am glad to see it back. By the way I’m also pleased to see you! I look forward to reading this story again and also to it being finished thank you very much!

    9. YES!!!!! Thank you Seahurst!! Bette is finally out of that Citibank office and two years removed from that heartbreaking morning. I hated that you left them in that state… (obviously) And what a fantastic deliverance…Can’t wait to see where you go but honestly, anything is better than where they were.Also- thank you so much for your ‘author’s comments’ – i am beyond flattered- (and feeling the pressure!! LOL!) Thanks so much again for writing.

    10. Oh I remember this, especially the last sentence about the bank. God I hated season 3 but adding a little season 5 may do wonders afterall. It´s so nice to see your name on the site again.

    11. At first I was thinking, something I don’t do ofter, maybe I will just skip this story. I have no words for the hated season 3. Then I continued to read, I realized that brought you a little of season 5 into this saga. Now I think that I will have the ability to continue reading this story.

    12. OOhhh love this!! So did the second chapter start a few years after the first? I wasn’t sure. I hope you can bring these two back together with your wonderful writing!

    13. Ooohh, love this one Sea!!! What a great way to pick this one up where it left off. One question though, do they normally see each other when handing off Angelica, so the surprise is just to see each other in this place? Can’t wait to read more! : )

    14. Great start, Seahurst ! I just love it when these two really get to talk to one another ( which didn’t happen often in the show ;) ) and I kinda like the idea that they get stuck in the elevator together, for some reason… ;)

    15. Great story and I am so glad to see you here again. I hate reliving any of B and T from S3 but I like the broken elevator…….more soon please!

    16. I did not watch season three myself, just had the feeling of it on the site and knew it wasn’t pretty at all. I hated it too, still do though. Thank you for rectifying what Showtime had screwed up, I am sure you will lol. There are ETERNITY!!!PPVS

    17. Hey Sea, Glad that you are back writing. You were so wonderfully supportive when I started writing — I sometimes think that if you hadn’t commented as you did on Chiaroscuro, I would never have continued. So back at you! I know how busy you are so it means even more that you are writing for us.

    18. Yea, you’re back! This seems like a a combination of S3 and S5 w/the two of them getting stuck in the elevator. Whatever it is, it is certainly amazingly written.

    19. Hey Seahearst, Thank you for reposting this tormented tale. The hurt between Bette and Tina is immense and so palpable. I really do hope that they can find their way back to each other and the life they shared. Angie needs her parents.Seahearst, you make my heart break reading this story.Thank you so much and please continue soon.Your Loyal Fan.
