“Are you sure? I’d like to believe that, Bette. But it’s all right if you weren’t,” Helena replied, placing the bacon in to sizzle.
Bette’s cell phone rang.
Angelica’s eyes quickly grew wide and she punched some buttons.
Her attention otherwise engaged, it took Bette a moment to react.
“Helwo,” Angelica said innocently, putting the phone up to her ear. “Mommy!” she screamed.
“Angelica, let Mama have her phone!” Bette said anxiously, holding out her hand.
“No! Me tawks!” Angie said, holding the phone tight to her chest.
“Angelica, give Mama the phone!”
“No!”
“Angelica, you should give your Mama the phone,” Helena said.
“No! Tawk to Mommy. Hi, Mommy!” Angelica said, putting the phone back up to her ear, animated with excitement. “Me hab fun! Me gawt kitty. Her name Fluffy. Like Ella. Yup. Me famish. Hab hole in belly. Ella spens night wid Mama! We hab swumber party!”
Chapter 18
“Angelica, give Mama the phone,” Bette said sternly.
Holding out her hand, Angelica placed the phone in Bette’s palm. “Me done. Tell Mommy evweefing now.”
“You certainly did,” Bette replied quietly. But how could she be annoyed at the innocence of a child less than three years old.
Bette threw back her head, trying to sweep her hair from her ear. She placed the phone there. “Tina?”
No one answered.
“Tina, are you there?” Bette asked again. “Tina!?”
Helena and Angelica stared at Bette.
“She hung up,” Bette said matter-of-factly, removing the phone from her ear and clicking it off as she placed it quietly on the table.
“Where Mommy go?” Angelica asked, picking up the phone and shaking it, before placing it back to her ear. “Mommy?”
Helena turned back to the stove and turned the bacon in the skillet. She could have sworn it was snarling at her as it hissed and popped. She placed the lid on top.
“I guess Mommy didn’t want to talk anymore,” Bette said softly. “Give Mama the phone.”
Angelica held out the phone and Bette took it and laid it on the counter away from all of them.

“He quickly climbed up Kit’s leg and torso and kissed her on the cheek” Yeah, I had to read that one again, I missed the bit about the torso and wasn’t sure which of Kit’s cheeks Harry kissed. I think I’ve had enough wine. Cue the music, cue Kit, and let’s hear her sing “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show”. Although she might take all banana related items off the menu now.
Oh, busted. I can so see Alice with a chimp, the chimp and the imp can be the name of the story when you get ready to write it.
I did forget to add that had Harry climbed up ME I would be freaking out, I don’t do monkeys, so I admire Kit’s composure, and there would be NO monkeykissing! I too had to reread, as I thought Alice took the monkey inside the Planet, which probably would not be the best idea…but on the other hand, he did let tina have it good and proper, so he IS a discerning monkey! Should funnyone ever surface to any communicating realm other than these hit and runs, it would be nice! I misses her.
Oh my gosh babe this was a wondrful way to start my day. The part of Alice & her chimp with Kit made my laugh so hard I got tears in my eyes. Tina sure is acting crazy and I don’t think Dirty Harry is doing any good LOL. I love the interaction between Gel’s & Angies, it”s so adorable. I hope the talk won’t be bad news though. Can’t wait to read more.Laughs at funnyone’s comment about the part where she missed the torso that almost made me spit my drink LOL.

This was great!I just love the interaction between Alice and her little hairy friend. And I agree with Harry, Tina does need to cool off. And lastly Bette & Helena do need to talk. Because the fireworks are just begining. Jealousy is about to show it’s little blond head.
Z what can I say that it was just so funny with Al and Dirth Harry, and with Kit in the interaction was awesome, I loved it!! Then when Harry throws the shake at Tina Brilliant and Alice saying you made my day was even funnier. Angie is adorable and I liked how you ended with Helena saying they needed to talk, wonderful Z!!!

I knew I liked that monkey! Tina got just what she deserved. I don’t know what she thinks she is doing, hanging up on people and going around screaming at them, but She. Let. Bette Go. SHE did it, and now Bette and Helena are together, and happy. Tina has no right to be doing this enraged victim crap at all, and I hope someone stands up to her, besides Dirty Harry, and tells her to STFU. I love Angie when she is behaving, and soon, more loving with B and H, please, soon?
Gee Zheese Hi, am I the only one that saw how nervous Bette got when Angie was on the cell phone? As for the rest, so funny & cute, loved dirty Harry and Al. If I were Tina, I would have had to laugh at myself though. Thank you, Md
