Helena grabbed the receiver from Bette’s hand.

“Rawwwwr! Beware the lions’ den when they’re mating, Alice! Rawwwwwwwr!” Helena warned with a loud laugh.

Bette grabbed the phone from Helena.

“No more kitty jokes! None! They’re done! You hear!” Bette yelled.

    “Done,” they said simultaneously.

“Good-bye, Alice! See you in a bit. And thank you,” Bette said, clicking the phone off.

“Way to tell her, Darling,” Helena grinned.

“I wasn’t talking to you, beautiful. I think I distinctly remember confessing to you that is was in a heap of danger?” Bette smiled into Helena’s eyes.

Helena grinned, opening her mouth and showing her teeth. “And why should you be?”

“Because you’re the Lion Queen, and I want you to devour me.”

    Chapter 11

Bette was rummaging through her purse when Helena came in the front door carrying a large plastic shopping bag.

“Shit!” Bette said. “Shit shit shit shit shit!” Hearing the crinkling sack, Bette looked in Helena’s direction. “What the hell is that?” Bette smiled.

“Well, it’s nothing for you to shit in, Darling,” Helena laughed, sitting the bag on the sofa.

The look on Bette’s face was one of perplexity before quickly becoming one of recognition. “You mean…?” she smiled. “You kept another promise.”

“Yes, Darling. I went shopping before seeking you out at the Planet and this is what will be Angelica’s new kitten’s doody receptacle,” Helena grinned, pulling out a state-of-the-art, self-cleaning litterbox.

Bette cautiously approached the box, which was actually circular in shape.

“Quiet and easy to use,” Bette read, “Reduces odor causing bacteria; Cleans continuously without disturbing your cat; Economical and environmentally safe. Wow!” Bette exclaimed, taking the contraption from Helena’s hands and turning it over and around in amazed examination.

    Helena laughed.

    “And there’s no scoop?”

    “No. No scoop, Darling.”

“I never thought I could be so excited about a doody box,” Bette smirked. She set the newfangled cleaning system off to the side and began peering into the bag, fingering the contents.

“Everything you need to get started is in there, Darling,” Helena said, quite proud of herself.

    1. Awwwww! But Angelica better leave the wubbing of Simba’s Mom to Mama. “She set the newfangled cleaning system off to the side and began peering into the bag, fingering the contents.” You know, when I first read that I thought it was “and began peeing into the bag, fingering the contents.”, which was quite the unexpected image! I think I better get myself some more wine.

    2. Awwww, that’s so cute ! Yeah, Ok, I realise my comment is not original at all since it appears everybody pretty much wrote the same thing. Anyway, I guess “sweet, cute and adorable” are the first words that spontaneously come to mind, huh ? Thanks Z !

    3. Aw babe this was sooo sweet, I really love Angie wish I had a little girl like her. Simba’s mom must feel quite honored to get so much love from the Porter women :) Great job baby can’t wait for more.
