Newcomer1- Well I started knowing what I was feeling for girls wasn’t just envy like… 3 years ago? I had/have a huge Angelina Jolie obsession starting in 6th grade, and it was sexual. Definintely opened my eyes to me being *****.It is scary when you’ve got to come out, because you never know how your friends and family will take it. I havent’ come out to my family yet, I don’t know how they’d react and I’m a little scared. My friends all know though. I’m glad you’re liking the story, thanks for the comments.

Story time.



Tina woke up with the rising sun, attempting to ignore the lights that blared over head. Dana had been up even before she had, and with her awakening had arrived the loud sounds of the alarm clock radio, the shower, the blow dryer and of course the irritating subconscious singing.

Come on, Tina. Get up. Dana persisted before she stepped out of the room bounding down the stairs. The front door slammed and jarred Tina from bed, her hair a static, clingy mess. What would Bette say if she saw her this way? Her hair mussed, her clothing dirty and disheveled. No make up.

Maybe shed find it attractive?

This only drove Tina out of bed and into the waiting shower. She prepped for today, hoping that itd be the day where she got the part, was the apple of everyones eye. A bit conceited maybe, but it was one of those days where you needed to feel good about yourself. Tina smiled, applying a thin layer of black charcoal to each lower lid of her eye. She smiled, running hands through her hair to perfect the style.

She smiled into the mirror, trying to imagine Bette by her side, hands on her shoulders. Lips on her lips. Blonde locks found themself over amber eyes as Tina shook the thoughts from her head. She grabbed her backpack, slipping down the stairs into the kitchen. The foil wrapper of a granola bar caught her eye, and she grabbed the tempting treat as her breakfast. It would satisfy her until lunch.

Tina honey, you found a ride to school? Sharon said, scaring Tina.

Yes, my friend Bette is going to be here any minute. I might be late again tonight, they give out parts. I might stay after to have a meeting with Ms. Galla. Tina nodded, tying the laces of her old gym shoes. Have a great day at work.

Good luck, Sharon placed a gentle kiss on Tinas cheek and waved as she disappeared out the door.

The soft ocean breeze blew Tinas hair in every direction, her eyes scanning nervously over the street. Her hands were trembling, her legs bouncing. Her heart was… well she didnt even bother to think about her heart, because she knew that as soon as the car came into view itd be pounding right out of her chest.

And as usual, she was correct. As soon as the shimmering new Volkswagon Jetta turned onto the block, she knew. Her heart fluttered and as it rolled to a stop, she could swear that everyone could hear the rhythmic beating.

Hey need a ride? Bette shouted through the open window, nodding to the passenger seat. Tina smiled brightly and tossed her bag in the back, sliding into the front beside Bette. She buckled her seat belt, hand grazing along the caramel girls thigh. She drew her hand back quickly, folding them in her lap.

Good morning to you too. Bette laughed, shaking her head as they headed towards the school.

Sorry, good morning. And thanks for the ride. Tina smiled, eyes taking a moment to idolize the beautiful girl at her side. Excited for today?

Why wouldnt I be? The smile lit up her face, and even with a swollen lower lip that had black stitching etched into it, she was flawless. If you grab the part -which you will- Galla usually throws a party after school. Ill be there, and even if you dont get the part, Im bringing you. Id love to introduce you to everyone else who is in the theater department.

Tina smiled, Sounds like fun. Hows your lip by the way? It looks better.

It hurt a little bit this morning, but it should be fine. The brunette smiled. Tina cared so much, she couldnt remember any time that Drew had taken care of her like this. But Drew didnt know about the little incident from yesterday.

Were here. Tina blinked, every nerve in her body going crazy. Bette parked the car and together, they walked down the halls to the auditorium, their bodies closer than usual. Ahead they spotted a group of kids crowded around the board, Karli in the center of the mob.

Karli! Bette shouted, motioning for her to join them.

Tina knew from the large smile plastered on Karlis lips that she had snagged a role. The blonde silently hoped that shed be all smiles, she was instantly greeted by a huge hug from Karli. You did it. She whispered into Tinas ear. We did it.

Tina froze, her whole body growing limp as her eyes grew wide. Are you shitting me? She muttered, turning to Bette who had clearly received the news before her. Youre not are you? Because that would be really really mean.

Not kidding you. Karli smiled, releasing her. Youd better start learning that balcony scene my dear Juliet.

No ***** way. Tina said in a daze, immediately turning to Bette. I did it.. I ***** did it. She jumped into Bettes arms, catching herself before she could get close enough to plant a kiss on those amazing lips. Thank you, thank you so much. Youre the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Oh my fair Juliet, tis not I that scored thee thy role. Bette laughed, clinging to Tina. This was all you, youre amazing. She whispered into Tinas ear, the warm breath sending shivers down Tinas spine.

And Im your nurse. Karli added as the two girls separated. We both got amazing parts.

Who is Romeo? Tina asked, arching a brow.

Its kinda funny actually. Drew. Karli smirked, eyeing Bette.

Well this isnt going to be awkward at all. Tina laughed. Ill be kissing your boyfriend up there, so dont kill me.

More awkward than you know. Bette thought, smiling as she remembered the fresh scent of Tinas hair and skin. Today was going to be a hard day for Bette to get through.

Mmmm guess who? Two large hands fell over deep chocolate orbs. Bette knew immediately who it was, and now wasnt the time. Tina looked at Drew with envious eyes, oh how she wanted to be able to hold Bette, to inhale the sweet smell that radiated from her. To freely kiss her and be there for her. That would be the day. Except, wasnt Tina supposed to be straight?

Drew, stop being such a kid. She laughed, pushing him back a little bit. Meet your Juliet.

Why hello fair maiden, He bowed and extended a hand towards Tina. Her dainty hand found itself in his, and his lips grazed along her knuckles. Itd be my pleasure if I were your Romeo.

Oh! Woe is me, thou art my dearest Romeo. Tina went along with it, her eyes focused no where except on Bette. She watched her every move, her hair flowing lightly over her shoulders. Her eyes scanning the area around them.

So the party tonight, youll all be there? Karli asked, looking from Tina to Bette, from Bette to Drew. Its gonna be insane. You know how Galla is with her cast parties.

***** yes, Drew replied, wrapping an arm around Bette.

Ill be there. Tina nodded, looking at her watch. Ive gotta run guys. She fibbed, And I wont be at lunch either, Ive got to study for a huge test Ive got in Western Civ. today. Ill see you at the party after school.

The brunette watched as Tina disappeared, knowing how uncomfortable she must have felt. Because in truth, Bette had been feeling just as uncomfortable.

The party had been just as fun as Bette had told Tina it would be, other than the fact that Drew had been all over his girlfriend the whole night, leaving almost no time for Tina to bask in her glory. At least they would be alone on the ride home, because Tina couldnt stand watching the two lovebirds kiss. It only fueled her pounding heart, made her eyes feel weak and teary and it tore her apart. The jealousy was clearly there, and so was that reoccurring feeling of… love.

Could this be love? She had never felt this way towards Billy, or anyone else for that matter. She wanted to spend every moment that she could with Bette Porter. She wanted to touch her, to hold her, to kiss her and tell her it would be okay. She cared so much, that even hurt when Bette had to say goodbye.

That was amazing. Tina smiled and said to Bette, trying to lighten the spirits as they walked to her car. I had fun, thanks for recommending it to me.

No problemo, youre my friend. I wasnt going to let you miss out on that, Bette replied, striking another hole through Tinas heart. A friend. Thats all shed ever be if she didnt get this out, but what would Bette say.

The car ride was mostly silent, each girl pondering her own thoughts and feelings for one another. Bette was more confused than Tina, she was sure that she loved Drew at one point. But where had that gone wrong? She couldnt forget him, they were so close. But there was that thought of Tina that always tugged at her mind and more importantly- her heart.
Bette? Tina said quietly, turning to face her. How do you and Drew make your relationship so strong? How did it come to be?

Bette was surprised by the question, Well… we were always good friends. It just kinda came naturally. Why?

Im starting to doubt the feelings that I have for my boyfriend. Tina sighed, pressing her head against the cool glass of her window. Its enough that I dont see him, but now I have all these new feelings here… for someone. And I dont know what to do.

She likes Drew doesnt she. She wants him, not me. Shes out to ruin my life. Bette thought, I didnt know you had a boyfriend?

Back home, yeah. Tina nodded, wanting to clarify her feelings for Bette. To let her know that the boyfriend meant nothing. That her love was strong. I want to end it, but I dont know how to.

Go about it carefully, itll all work out. If he cares, he wont freak. Bette suggested, rolling to a stop outside Tinas home. Ill see you tomorrow. Have a great night, T.

Bette? Tina said quietly as she unbuckled her seat belt.

Yeah? Brown eyes met amber and the two girls froze, both going numb. Tina smiled slightly and reached over, stroking Bettes hair. She withdrew a long golden earing from the tangled mess.

Here, She said quietly, leaning across the seat to replace the earring in Bettes ear. Their bodies brushed against one another, and their eyes met. Faces a mere inch from one another. Tina froze, letting the earring drop. She couldnt hold back any longer, if she didnt do what she needed to, she was going to hate herself for it later.

Tina… Bette trailed off in a whisper, hands running along the top of Tinas. No. We cant.

Tina shook her head, raising a hand to Bettes lips. She traced along them gently with her finger, then brought her own honey coated lips to Bettes, the shock that radiated through their entire bodies -hearts included- almost sent them both backwards. She replaced the earring, stepping out the car without another word. The blonde hurried up the driveway, Bette watching in shock as Tina entered the house, leaning against the door behind her.

That was wrong of me. So wrong. Tina thought, resting her head back against the door as she closed her eyes, trying to blink back the tears. But if it was so wrong, why did it feel so right?
