    Chapter 7

    The next day.
Bette wake up, you have slept in, James called. Tina says as shes entering the bedroom with the phone in her hand. Bette opens her eyes fast, think for a second, *****, *****. Bette says as she jumps off the bed.
Its okay, I told him that we had a rough night, he understood. Tina says as she walks over to Tina and kisses her on the cheek. I dont want you to stress, your main concern should be on getting well. Ill come with you to the hospital today. Tina says as Bette put on her robe, and they both walks out to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
A few hours later, they are sitting in the waiting area at the hospital.
Im glad you came with me today. Bette says and lean her head onto Tinas shoulder. I wouldnt want to be anywhere else, my place is right next to you. Tina says and smiles, just then Bettes name is called. They walk in, and Dr. Wilson is there waiting.
Tina? This is a surprise. Dr. W. says as she shakes her hand. How are you doing? Dr. W. continued. Im doing fine. Tina replies and smiles over at Bette, who has already taken a seat in the chair. Its a big, wide recliner chair. Dr. W. goes over and puts in the IV, and connects the bag with the chemo to the IV. Ill be back in half an hour. Dr. W. says, and then leaves.
Come here Bette says and motions with her hand for Tina to take a seat next to her. Are you sure its okay, you wont be uncomfortable or anything? Tina asks. How can I possibly be uncomfortable with you next to me? Bette asked as she smiles widely, and reaches out her hand.
Tina slowly moves in to the chair. Bette is pushing the back down, so they can lay instead of sit. Tina lay on her side, with her head rested on Bettes left shoulder/chest, and Bette has her arm around Tina. A moment of silence.
Does it hurt? Tina asks curiously. No, I just get a little tired afterwards. Bette replies. So how long do you have to take the treatment? Tina asks. She wants to know everything.
A month at first, then they shall check how I have reacted to it, after that, I dont know. Bette replies. But If I dont respond to the chemo, they have to consider operation. Bette continues. No, Bette, no IFs, you are going to respond to it, Im sure of it. Tina says.
I dont want to be pessimistic, but it could become reality. And I would like to tell you what might happen. Bette says, as she looks down on Tina.
I might get a limp, but the good part is that I could walk with a cane Bette laughs. You shouldnt joke about it. Tina says looking up at Bette who is still laughing. Oh come on Tee, A cane is cool. Bette cant stop laughing. After a few moments Tina cant help herself, she starts to laugh too just by looking at Bette. Just then Dr. Wilson walks in, and is surprised to see them both laughing hard. Never seen anyone laugh so hard in here before. Dr. W. says and smiles. Both Bette and Tina have a hard time stop laughing. Tina slowly moves out of the chair. Dr. W. begins to take out the IV.
Bette, theres something I need to say to you. I will advise you to out a sickleave. Ive seen you in here this last week, and you are getting more and more tired. I dont want you to take any risk. Dr. W. says concerned.
I havent had a problem yet, Ive cut down the overtime and I go home early everyday. I Bette says as Tina interrupts her.
Bette, baby, I think you should listen to Dr. Wilson. You cant do it all you know. You have to concentrate on getting well. I dont want to loose you. Tina says. Bette looks at her, and grabs her hand. Okay. Bette says and smiles to Tina. Okay, you can just go outside and wait for the papers. Dr. W. says.
