she says…“Helena Peabody…I’m sure you heard of me” she smiles with pride and dignity in her eyes…
I nod saying…“yes…I know who you are…your the woman in charge of running the Peabody Foundation”…
she says while adjusting her shirt…“that’s right…so your the one that’s seeing Winnie…my ex?” she looks me up and down all around…
I glance over at Alice and she busts out laughing saying…“I told you Bette wouldn’t dare cheat…”
Helena looks over at Alice…trying to recall the name…she asks…“excuse me…but…are you Bette Porter’s wife?” looking Tina up and down…
Tina says…“yes I am…” while adjusting her bag
Helena smiles licking her lips…she says…“and the baby you are carrying…is that hers too?”
Alice steps forward and says…“yes…it’s their baby and this is her wife…you have the wrong Tina lady…get a clue”
I felt stupid and humilated that moment…god why am I hear..the lump in my throat goes away…my heart moves back into place letting my stomach go free..the sweaty palms cease…I smile with relief…I say “I’m sorry but…you have the wrong Tina..” I smile and turn to Alice..I say…“come on…lets go home”
Alice and Tina began making their way over to the door…
Helena steps closer asking…“hey wait…where are you going?”
I turn around and say…“home to my wife…now if you’ll excuse us” I turn away…
Alice smiles and says…“excuse us” she rolls her eyes…
Alice and Tina make their way out of the hotel…once they are out front Tina sighs with relief…she says…“thank god…whew…look at me…I’m a total wreck”
Alice comes up to me and wraps her arm around my shoulder…she says…“no…your not a nervous wreck…” she rubs Tina’s back and says…“your just a woman whose concerned about her wife…and that doesn’t make you crazy…it makes you open and tuned into what the hell Bette is doing…now I know the shit can be aggrevating…but T…I don’t think Bette would be dumb to do it all over again…she really loves you Tina…” she smiles…
I look over at her and said…“yeah…I think your right…the hard parts over” I breath in and exhale out…I say…“I guess I can say goodbye to that grant proposal”
Alice asks…“why…you worked so hard on that damn thing” she glances over looking for a response..
Tina says nevously…“because she’s the woman in charge of giving the grants…I think I just might have ruined my chances Al…that’s it…it’s all over” she tosses her hands in the air and makes her way over to Alice’s car…

Yes, have Tina talk to Bette about what happened. Bette may get upset but at least she’ll know someone after her. They need to be open and honest and Bette needs to know the truth. Please post soon.
