It had been four days sense Bette came home. Or what she was told was her home. Weeks had passed sense she met Tina again. She had come to know that her personality was very demanding, and she worked for success. As she looked at pictures of herself as well as pictures of everybody else , she felt a deep sense of emptiness. Shane, Kit, Alice, and Diana stayed awhile before they each decided to call it a night and go home. She stood in her room, and looked around. This feels so strange, Bette thought.

She walked around and sat on the corner of the bed, putting her face in her hands. She started to cry. Im a complete stranger to myself, Bette thought out loud not knowing she did. She looked over and her eye caught something. It was a picture of Tina and herself. They both had cake smothered across their faces , locked in a kiss. At the time they looked very happy. Tina had been walking by when she saw Bette looking at her favorite picture. She paused just to simply watch Bette through the doorway. How did this happen? Tina asked herself. Why Bette? Why us ? Why me? She continued to think silently, finding no answers. Bette let out as sob, jerking back Tina to reality. Pain reached into her heart and settled there, as she walked into the room and over to Bette.

She sat down quietly next to Bette. She reached out and touched Bettes shoulder. Surprised that Tina was suddenly there, Bette let out a yelp and backed away. Bette its just me, Tina, its ok. I didnt mean to scare you

Scared and confused Bette slid down the wall crying. Im scared Bette sobbed.

Oh Bette, its ok Tina said as she sat down on the floor and enveloped Bette into her embrace.
Bette clung to Tina as if she was her only life line.

Its ok hun, just let it out Tina comforted Bette.

Bettes body shook with tears. Im sorry Bette choked out.

Dont be sweetie, dont be Tina replied as tears came to her own eyes. They both sat their for the longest time as Tina rocked Bette back and fourth in her arms. Realizing Bette had stopped crying, she kissed her lightly on her forehead. Tina breathed in her scent and found it wonderful as it had always been.
