Chapter 1, Bette’s POV

I had managed to get a job as a police detective in homicide. It was the perfect secret identity. I knew that I had to adopt a disguise so I wouldn’t be recognized. A mask, coloured contact lenses and a costume, which I hide under my clothes was the perfect disguise.  

Jodi: Bette could I have a word with you in my office please

Sergeant Jodi Lerner. She’s my boss and also the constant thorn in my side. I know she’s attracted to me which makes my life a lot more difficult because she’s asking me out on dates nearly every day. It’s not that I haven’t got time for a social life nor the fact that I don’t want one it’s just I’m scared that if someone was to discover who I was really was they may attempt to hurt the people I care about to get to me.

“Sure”

 I get up from my desk and go into her office. The first thing I notice is the beautiful blonde that was sitting at Jodi’s desk. I had never seen such a beauty before. Her hair was flowing and her face was perfectly formed. Her eyes. How can I describe those eyes? They were a steely blue colour and filled with an array of emotions. Loneliness, hurt, grief; she had recently lost someone dear to her and my heart could do nothing but ache for her

Jodi: Bette this is Agent Tina Kennard, she has been assigned to murder case you’re working on

Tina Kennard. The perfect name for an angel

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Agent Kennard”

I extend my hand. The instant her hand touches mine there is a jolt of electricity. She was the one, she was my soulmate I could feel it deep inside of me. I knew she had felt it too. Her eyes lock with mine. She could see into my soul and I in hers.

Tina: Detective Porter

She lets go of my hand and breaks our connection. The moment had passed.

Jodi: *jealous of what she had just seen* Bette *I turn my head to look at my commanding officer* you and Agent Kennard will be working together in order to solve these murders
