Dana was packing her clothes while Alice put her son down to sleep in the guest room. After a few minutes later Alice came out and closed the door quietly. She walked over to Dana’s room.

"Hey Dane you need any help?" Alice popped in her head at the doorway.

"Nope thanks. Just about to finish here."

"Ohh…" Alice looked down at her feet as she stood at the doorway. The room was filled with silence. Dana carried her bagpack and led Alice to the living room. She sat onto the couch while Alice opt for the loveseat.

"So how are you doing in six years?" Dana broke the silence while looking down at her hands. Alice was shocked at the question. But somehow she knew this was coming.

"I am doing fine Dane." Alice answered softly not looking at Dana.

"I’m glad one of us do."Dana blurted out.

Alice was shocked and looked up at Dana. Dana sighed and shifted her head to meet Alice’s eyes. They felt as if the time had stopped. Dana’s eyes started to well up. She never thought that she had the chance to see her soul mate again. She was so near yet so far. It was all too late now as she had already moved on with her life. Dana felt as if her heart was ripped open and then burned into ashes. She broke the gaze and looked down at her feet, never wanted Alice to know that she was about to cry. Little did she know that Alice was doing the same too. They just sat at their place without saying anything. It was too hurt for both of them. They were many questions playing in Dana’s mind, but she knew that this wasn’t the right time for them. She was relief when she heard a car horn outside. It was Shane. Dana quickly stood up and made her way to the door with Alice followed behind.

"Got to go now. Al you should take a bath and rest after this. Are you coming for breakfast at the Planet tomorrow?"

"Yeah, we’ll be there." Dana smiled and then she took out her keys from her pocket.

"Here you can use my car. I’ll be at Shane’s anyway, so she can give me a lift if I want to go somewhere." Dana passed the keys to Alice.

"Thanks Dane. I hope we don’t cause any trouble to you." Alice took the keys.

"No silly you are never a trouble for me." Dana opened the door and stepped outside.

"Bye, see you tomorrow." She turned to walk towards the car.

"Bye." Alice stood at the door. A stream of tears rolled down her cheeks as Shane pulled away.

Dana put her bagpack down and slumped onto Shane’s couch. She leaned onto the backseat and massage her temples. Shane knew that something was bothering her friend. There was an awkward silence on the way back. Dana looked out through the car window with her mind drifting somewhere. Shane just kept quiet to give Dana some space to think on her own. Now that they were in the apartment already, Shane couldn’t help but to ask as her friend was still staring at the ceiling.

"Hey Dane are you ok?" Shane asked as she passed a bottle of beer to Dana. Dana took the bottle and gulped the whole content. Shane knew her friend was sad.

"I am ok Shane." Dana said as she finished the whole bottle and wiped her mouth.

" I know something is bothering you. You know you can tell me anything if you want to."

"Yeah thanks Shane. I just need a good rest. I’m quite worn out as I didn’t really sleep yesterday."

"Ok, let’s get you to sleep then." Shane picked up Dana’s bagpack and led her into the guest room. She then left the room to let Dana rest. Dana slumped onto the bed and cried to herself before drifted off to sleep. Shane was standing outside all the time and she heard Dana cried. She knew her friend was heart broken and wow to help the two of them in whatever form. She walked to the living room when Dana fell asleep. She picked up the phone and called Bette.

    1. What an emotional chapter! You can really feel the longing and despair in both women. I am glad that Shane is going to call Bette. Hopefully they can get a plan together to help Danish be Danish. And I look forward to hearing more about Chris. Thanks, uhhuh!!

    2. It’s so sad when 2 people obviously love each other so much and yet something always gets in there way. I hope Dana will have the courage to talk to Alice about, THEM… Great chapter.. I’m hoping for more Danish stories please… Dana may not be in the L-Word show anymore but having stories like this keeps Dana and Alice in my heart. Thank you uhhuh…
