Hindsight – Chapter 31
Hindsight – Chapter 31
Main Entry: hindsight
Pronunciation: ‘hIn(d)-"sIt
Function: noun
Meaning: understanding the nature of an event after it has happened
"Hindsight is always better than foresight"
“I have this huge mountain in front of me to climb…, and there is a lot of that climbing that I have to do alone…”
“I’ll be at the top waiting for you T…”
“I know… and that’s what is going to make the climb worth every step…” she had no idea how focused I would be on getting to the top, getting to her…
“I’ll help you…” she said, and I’m sure she would, but there were thoughts and feelings inside of me that I hadn’t even acknowledged to myself or dealt with myself, and it was going to be hard enough having to face the fact I was having those feelings, let alone telling her…, I’m sure there were going to be things that would remain hidden in the depths, maybe things that I didn’t even recognise or know how to deal with.
“Some things I need to do alone Bette…” and it was going to be a long journey I’m sure, maybe finding my way back to her was going to be harder than it was to walk away from her, because these past weeks had taught me so much, and the most important thing…, the most important… and it was also the hardest to accept since I had realised…, I never should have left her…
“It’ll be okay…” she said to me, and god I hoped it would…
“Yeah… it will… given time…” I began to look around, seeing all the families, I didn’t realise the park was so busy, maybe my thoughts had been busy since we got here, I hadn’t really taken it all in.
Suddenly I saw a face in the distance that I recognised, I felt my fingers grip the handle on the stroller, I felt my chest constrict, because I am positive the face I was seeing ahead of me was the same one that was at I saw before I left the house last night, the face that shouted goodnight to me as I walked out of the door to come and visit Bette…, “fuck…”

Hindsight can be a curse and a blessing! Well Tina, it’s too late now, you did what you did. The only thing now is to learn and move forward with the right choices and stop running from your problems.
Your consistency and excellence are amazing.Bette just knows how to soothe Tina. They truly are soulmates. Bette just needs to remain patient. PPS.
Well, if Henry is spying on Tina, than he’ll just have to deal with what he may have seen. Don’t spy if you can’t handle the results of your actions.
another good one Jobadge. Thank you! I agree with smiley.
I agree with smiley… hindsight can be a burden, something that weighs you down and keeps you from moving forward. But it can also give you the insight you need to make a change. Please let the latter be the case for Tina. This time it’s Tina who needs to breathe, to stop panicking and just take one step at a time…. just one step, T. As always, Jo… your writing moves me so much. Thank you.
Fate sometime works thing out for you. You just need to take the necessary step that was laid out for you. Now it up to tina. thanks
Yeah with hindsight im sure could all save ourselves a little hurt, so all we can do is learn from it and move on. Tina is learning from hers and now she needs to make it right for all of them!…Good update!
Sometimes it’s the most painful things that teach us the best. I doubt if Tina will make the same mistake twice. But she will need to suck it up and finish it with Henry, maybe not now, but sooner better than later.
“I don’t do the personal shout outs,..” No need to. Thanks!
No Tina, you never should have left her. Now go home.
She never really did leave Bette, only physically was she not there for Bette. In the back of her mind Bette has always been part of her. Tina tried to leave that behind but all she did was bury her feelings into the back of her mind. She continued to tell Angelica about her other mother when she was alone with their daughter. Now is the time to use foresight and put those feelings back where they belong.
Small moves… it’ll happen, whether Henry saw them or not. Well done as always, Jo. Thanks.
Yeah Tina, you should never leave Bette, Tina. Ok please post soon, thanks!
This twist with a simple thing like the story name is something absolutely intelligent of yours, Jo. Shows how much into it you are. There’s a difference between authors – Some are doing their jobs and some are gathering sheep. You’re doing it amazingly, thanks for another great post, mate.
Thank you for this story.
Like everyone else, thank you…for the wonderful story.
There you go, Tina. Baby steps. Fantastic as always, Jo! (And I think I get to harass you about these only being one page from now until… forever).
Shoot why is she running? Why does she have Bette running? The ONLY reason she should perhaps worry is if she planned to stay with Henry and work things out…and even then she did nothing wrong in the park but tell the other mother of her child that she loved her…I am sure Henry knows that Tina still loves Bette shoot she even spent the night…if they were gonna do anything they would have done it at home and not in the middle of the park…all this “running” is unneccessary. More please…you can forego the shoutouts…I know you love us everytime you post….so show your love…
Thanks for writing this great story.
Get your hiking boots on T because wishing away your mistakes won’t make it happen, and you have a big hill to climb. It takes a lot of time, patience and effort. But with Bette Porter being there for you I’m sure you can do it! (Please Jo make it so!) Love this story so much…and you, Jo are the one that astounds me. I love that you do what you do, and I am very thankful that you do it.
This is an amazing story. I was on vacation and I just caught up. You are just such an amazng storyteller. I hope that there is more to this. Thanks for taking the time.
Yes that is right Tina should never left Bette but now she has to face the consequences of her acts. Bette was so sweet soothing Tina. what more i can said about the chapter?? it was amazing as always take care
But you did leave her Tina *Big sign*!!!!
I will never get caught up on all of these stories..but you are one of the first. Thank you for B & T.
I was sitting here thinking, “Oh no this is going to be a step or two back for them.” But Bette didn’t freak out, and Tina stopped freaking out. As someone else said, baby steps.
Thank god u finally realized that Tina!Great chapter as always Jo
