After dinner and conversation, Shane and Dana leave Bette’s place.  After they drive off, Tina asks Bette “What do you think?”

“About what?”

“Shane and Dana?”

“I think we should let them figure it out.”

“Baby, you’re not being very helpful.”

“T, I told Shane not to hurt Dana because she’s your very best friend.”

“Awwww.  See you’re so sweet.  That’s one of the things I fell in love with about you.”

“You mean there are more?” Bette asks joking.

“Yeah, though your sense of humor is not one of them,” Tina jokes back.

“So what’s on the agenda for tomorrow?” Tina asks Bette.

“I figured Sam and I would just hang out here and take it easy.”

“Are you trying to get rid of me?”

Bette takes Tina’s hand and kisses it.  “Never.  But honey, I’m fine.  You can go back to work.  There’s no point in missing another day.  Save your days and one day I’ll whisk you away for a romantic getaway.”

“Baby, I want to be here to take care of you.”

“T, I’m ok really.  I promise I’ll call if anything happens.”

“Ok.”

“Do you need to borrow some clothes for work?”

“No, I brought some with me.  When do you plan to go back to work?”

“As soon as they’ll let me.  I need a doctor’s release.  So, when I go in for my checkup day after tomorrow, hopefully then.”

“Bette” Tina’s tone is serious.  “Have you ever thought about a desk job?”

Bette just looks at her for more.

“I mean, how much longer are you going to continue to be a swimmer?”

“As long as I’m able to.  What’s wrong with that?”

“Nothing’s wrong with it.  Never mind.”  Tina decides she better change the subject.  She doesn’t want to fight with Bette about this right now.  “Are you ready for bed?”

“Sure babe.  I love any extra snuggle time I get with you.”

They head for the bedroom, hand in hand.

The next day Tina goes to work and Bette hangs out at the house.  Shane has a day off so she comes over to visit.  They call Alice and the three friends spend the afternoon getting caught up on each other’s lives.
