Chapter 57

‘Let’s meet the family!’

They stepped out of the room and passed Michaels ‘bedroom’. He opened the door on the same time to go downstairs and whispered: ‘You two uhh.. you didn’t do IT last night right? I mean, here in grandma’s house.. next to my room?? Uggh..’

Tina smirked: I’m gonna ask you one question little brother.. what’s the difference between this house and our home? You do actually sleep in the room next to mine AT home.. loser (sticking her tongue out). But why do you ask anyway.. we also had this exhausting plane ride, just like you.. we were out as soon as we hit the bed..

Michael: thank god (smirking)

Bette: hey! Just keep your eyes and ears closed young man,, because you’ll never know hihi

She stroke Tina’s back for a moment and said: ‘come lets head downstairs’

Tina: jup, I’m gonna introduce you..

Michael: as.. (wiggling his eyebrow)

Tina shot him a death look and said: ‘as my best friend’

The three of them headed downstairs and Tina showed Bette all rooms on the same time. Michael went outside towards the breakfast table through the open door while Bette and Tina walked into the kitchen.

Tina: and here is the kitchen.. where grandma makes all fabulous dishes..

Grandma: who called my name? (smiling)

Bette and Tina turned around and saw a small woman standing in front of them. A colourful apron hugged her body and the beautiful eyes made it clear that she was the grandma of Tina and the mother of Tina’s dad, Peter.

Tina: Grandmaaa! Good morning..

And she Maria a big hug..

Maria: oh god my child, you grew so hard..

She took her hands and sways them. ‘I missed you’

Tina smiled and said: I missed you too grandma.. it’s been so long..

She took a deep breath, turned towards Bette and said: ‘Grandma, I’d like you to meet Bette Porter, my best friend. Bette, meet my grandma, Maria Kennard’

Bette: it’s very nice to meet you Maria (smiling) You sure have a beautiful house here, wow!

Maria: Thank you Bette. I’ll tell you all about it later if you want..

Bette: I’d like that very much!

Maria: come, let’s go outside.. Fred and Betty will arrive in the midday.. but first, Bette, let Tina introduce you to Jan and Amanda and their little kid Paul, who took over the farm from Tina’s dad..

Bette: okay (smiling)

Maria: oh.. before I forget.. uhmm

Tina: yes grandma?

Maria: what was up with the shower? I only heard it turn on one time.. and you are both showered.. (looking puzzled)
