After that kiss, well kisses actually, Danas whole world turned upside down. She had to put up with a lot of ***** from Tonya about her inconsiderate friends who think they can just stop by at any hour of the day or night with whatever problem they might have and just expect Dana to stop everything and come to their rescue. Since that night, Dana seemed to find fault with a lot of things Tonya said or did. She was too sugary sweet with her lovey-dovey words and she was just too damn clingy. She had an opinion about everything and she had ‘accidentally knocked her collage of Mr. Ps pictures off the highboy, breaking the glass and frames. Actually, no matter what Tonya did or said had been getting on her nerves. Finally, she had told Tanya that she was stressed out and wanted to postpone the wedding and needed some time to herself. Tonya had screamed and yelled, pleaded and begged, and finally left. Then she started calling and leaving messages on the answering machine and Danas cell phone saying she didnt know what she had done, but she was sorry and loved Dana, and they just needed to get away by themselves somewhere where there were no distractions and they could just reconnect.

Dana felt more nauseated with every message. She realized she did not love this woman. That she had jumped into a rebound relationship because she had missed Lara so much. Finally she had called Tonya and told her that they were OVER and she WASNT going to marry her. After pleading and then yelling obscenities, she had stated, Fine then, but Im not giving back the ring!. Dana had happily agreed, thinking it was a small price to pay to escape from the ridiculous situation that she had gotten herself into. Thankfully, the calls had stopped.

Dana continued to think about that 4:00 a.m. visit though. She couldnt believe that Alice had kissed her, she had kissed Alice, and then Alice had run away! She had wondered what it all meant, both to herself and to Alice. She knew that she had liked the kisses and that maybe they needed to explore this further. But Alice acted like nothing had happened and didnt bring the subject up, so Dana didnt pursue it. But she couldnt forget it either.

Alice couldnt figure out what had happened to their group. Jenny and Marina, well there was no explaining them ever! Kit and Ivan seemed to be getting closer, but Kit seemed in denial that Ivan was a woman. Alice didn’t know how that was going to play out. Shane just seemed so lost. She wasnt the same and wouldnt talk about what was wrong, but she still hung out with them and just was drinking even more than usual. Dana had called her marriage off, but had not spoken a single word about those kisses. They had both just ignored it and as long as they still seemed to be friends, Alice had decided to let sleeping dogs lie and not ***** up their friendship.

Tina and Bette though, that was another thing altogether. Tina had changed in the past couple of weeks. She had been crying for two solid weeks, but she didnt cry anymore. She had gone back to working with Oscar and was spending long days there. She would meet and go out with the gang, but she never mentioned Bette, and if Bettes name was even mentioned or implied, Tina would suddenly remember something she needed to do or some place that she needed to be going. She was alert and responsive, but not angry or happy or any other easily discernible emotion. She was still sweet Tina, caring about them and how they were doing, but she was lack-luster and secretive when it came to herself. She was just existing and going through the motions of life. Bette on the other hand, had gotten a little friendlier over the last couple of weeks. She had called Alice a couple of weeks ago to say she was sorry for her actions and for not being around, but to please take care of Tina. She had said that she loved Tina as much as ever if not more so, but that they just wouldnt be together anymore and to let her know if Tina ever needed anything. Since that call, she had called every couple of days to check in and see how everyone was and to ask Alice to say hi to the gang, but she still had not shown any interest in meeting with them. Bette always ended her calls by asking Alice to take care of Tina, but she no longer asked specifically about Tina or asked Alice to tell Tina that she loved her. In fact, the one time she tried to tell Bette about Tina returning to work, Bette cut her off and asked her to please only mention Tina if there was a problem or if Tina needed anything that Bette could provide.

Alice was afraid that relationship was really over. In fact, she was afraid the whole family might just be FUBR.
