    Chapter 89 – Take The High Road

    “T, I promise we will figure this out together.  Just get some sleep now.”  Bette tries to lull Tina into a peaceful security.

     

    Finally relenting to Bette’s pleas Tina relaxes “I like that together part.”

     

    Bette just smiles as she feels Tina cozy up.

     


    89 – Take the High Road

     

    Bette woke up first as she felt Tina still nuzzled up with her head resting on Bette’s left breast.  Inhaling deeply Bette savored everything about this moment.  Looking down at Tina, Bette’s left arm was still wrapped around Tina had fallen off a little as Bette pulled Tina in a little closer.

     

    Tina had taken quite a while to relax enough to go to sleep last night.  Bette could tell by how long if had taken for her to unclench her fist as she finally spread her hand across Bette’s stomach as sleep overtook her. 

     

    Bette herself had spent a good portion of the night thanking God that Tina was in her arms.  After Tina had drifted off to sleep, Bette continued to run the night’s activities through her mind.  She had laid there wondering about Helena and what other overt act of drama she would dream up.  Bette even wondered if Helena possessed a voodoo doll of her and went about trying to put needles in different strategic locations as she wanted to maximize Bette’s pain.  All Bette knew for sure was that there was probably more to come.

     

    What else would this woman do?  Would they ever get rid of that *****?  Bette wondered what it would take to finally make Helena leave.  She wasn’t someone easily intimidated.  It would have to be something fairly significant, something that would play on Helena‘s sense of self-preservation. 

     

    Bette was still lying there in bed mulling over different plans in her head as she knew she needed to come up with something to protect her family.

     

    As Bette continued to chew over Helena and her misdeeds she remembers the Peabody Foundation Stamp on each of the photographs on display last night.  Bette begins wondering if the Peabody Foundation really knew what those photos were about. 

     

    Heaving a sigh, Bette just can’t wrap her mind around how to effectively protect her family.  She really wanted to take the high road and walk away from Helena and anything to do with the kind of negativity that surrounds her but would that be enough?  Last night she wanted to just be there for Tina and make Tina’s pain her focus when every nerve in her body was twitching as all she wanted to do was flex her muscles to ***** slap Helena.  But all that would have done was escalate the situation and that wouldn’t have been best for Tina.  That would have played into Helena‘s hands and would have been like the Bette she wanted to leave behind, the Bette that would have put her own needs in front of those of Tina and her family.

    10. Just catching up also and I’m so pleased that you were justly rewarded for your efforts. I can’t get enough of the tenderness between Bette and Tina. Kit’s a sharpie – can’t wait to see what she says. Nice job, as always.

    11. Great chapter, man I can’t believe that Tina let Bette’s comment about her delivery just go right over her head. Oh yeah, Alice is in TROUBLE big time because, Bette has warned her in no uncertain terms to STEP OFF in regards to her family. Oh yeah Alice, Kit is also a member of Bette’s family. I think that Kit is going to love what Bette did with Melvin’s money, but they both will agree that it is nonething of Alice’s business. Please post again soon.

    12. How you do you get even with Helena? Hit her where it matters most. Her pocket book and her lifestyle. Niether of which she will want to have jeopardized. Let Momma Peabody and their board of directors get a look at what Helena is using the Peabody stamp for…a personal vendetta. That ought to get more than just her hand slapped!

      So Bette let the cat out of the bag twice. Once in reference to how beautiful Tina was during Anna’s delivery, and when she mentioned signing the waiver. I’m guessing that Tina will eventually put two and two together. Bette’s presence at Anna’s birth may also cull more information that could be used against Hurricane Helena.

      Oh Alice, even when you’re not in the chapter, you are. Nudging Kit just enough to set her onto Bette to ask about the foundation. Alice better hope that Bette will take the high road with her as well.

      Kit may initially feel like she should have had more say in how the money was used to set up a foundation like Melvin wanted. But in the end I think that she will see that the actual foundation itself has a solid framework and a good cause. Plus, it’s being managed, in part, by a member of the family which will only serve to strengthen it’s original goal. Plus, how ironic to have Melvin’s money used to fund a cause that is run by one “Ms. Kennard”.

      You know Jwet, you do a damn fine job with your story even when you’re not here! I’m so glad you’re having your story posted even while you’re gone! Thanks to absent author and proxy poster!!

      Oh Kit, what has Alice lead you into…. if only you knew – I don’t think Kit will be mad at Bette – how could she… Bette is sooooooo super oh so many things, oh and damn sexy at that.

      I loved your early morning intimate conversations, great to see them doing all the lovey dovey intimate bonding now that Bette is back home.

      Oh, just one thing about your writing – it would look so much better if it read “As Bette pulled Jobadge in close………..!” ;-) LMAO!!

    15. It took me 2 days, but I finally made it through all 89 chapters. This story has me riveted to my seat.

      Now that I’ve caught up, I want to officially make my comments.

      Something has got to be done with HellNo! The way she treats T & B is called harrassment; plain and simple!

      Alice….uggghhhh, I am so sick of her interderring meddling ass that I dont know what to do with myself. Everytime Alice’s instincts rears its ugly head, it seems that the “family” loyalty becomes non-existent to her.

      Ok, that’s it for now….I’m going tosit here and cool my jets til the next chapter.

      I see that the glove are on for dealing with Hellcat. Best bet as you might catch something nasty from her otherwise. Always think of safety first when you are not sure where something has been.
      So Peggy may be involved. Goodie!
      She always enlivens the story and likes to mess with peoples head. Arrogance comes with money I suppose.
      Every scene is delicately and delightfully crafted to entice and draw in the reader.
      You are a fabulous cook, taken these basic ingredients; words and producing the most marvelous melodrama after a long spell in a warm oven.
      Today’s questions:
      Just how thick are the walls in the house? Does Irene hear anything? Will Kit need to hit Tina up side the head to realise that Bette was there in the delivery room? How many clues can Bette drop? Should Kit be attending Anger Management classes after all the treats to hit people up side the head? Just how will Bette respond to Kit’s inquiry as to where the money came from? Where did it come from?
      All these and more will be answered in the coming weeks.

    21. Ooh, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for Helena. I’m kind of hope that they don’t need Peggy to bail them out, but they just might need the big hammer!
