    Chapter 73 – Hear It All

    Tina please just listen please. Bette says quickly as she
    is putting both hands, palms out in a motion signaling halt.  I put opportunities in your way.  Thats all I did.  You either made them happen or not.  It was all YOU not ME.  I just tried to stack the deck in your favor,
    thats all.

     

    Tina stood in the kitchen trying to calm herself so she
    could hear Bette but all that kept going through her head was that this new
    Bette was just an act.  That she hasnt
    changed a bit.  It started in the pit of
    her stomach and radiated out through out her body, Tina was now pissed off,
    raging mad at the mere thought that Bette had deceived her once again and she
    had fallen for it.  This anger had Tina
    trembling as a wave a fury overcame her and all she could see was Bettes
    betrayal once again.  Balling her fists
    up tightly, Tina headed towards the front door. 
    Reaching it she threw it open with a force that startled even her.  The door slammed into the side wall with such
    force it created a huge bang that could be heard through out the house.  The door created a noise loud enough that
    Anna heard it and began to cry.  Tina
    turned to address Bette I think you need to leave, right now. As Tina is
    saying this she is forcefully pointing out the door to demonstrate the path she
    wants Bette to take. 

     

    Bette was still in the kitchen, it was as if her feet were
    rooted there.  She couldnt and didnt
    want to move.  With Tina now staring at
    her with anger and venom in her eyes, Bette just looked back. 

     

    Just then Anna screamed again a frightened wail that broke
    into both of there thoughts.  Tina began
    to move to Annas room, leaving Bette standing still rooted to the floor.

     

     

     

    Chapter 73 – Hear It All

     

    As Tina burst into Annas room, she still was shaking from
    her anger at Bette for trying to manipulate her.  The first glimpse of Anna crying frightened
    by the unexpected noise immediately altered Tinas mood as the mommy in Tina
    took over.

     

    Oh Honey, its OK. 
    Ahhh come here honey.  Did you
    hear that big bang?  Tina says as she
    reaches for Anna and picks her up.

You write so beautifully – the inner thoughts and the dialogue just great.

    4. I am so glad that Bette came clean to Tina, even more happy that Tina figured out it was Bette that started the foundation before Alice spilled the beans!

      I hope that Tina sees that each day we all have opportunities placed in our path – whether they are of our own doing or tacitly orchestrated by a parent, friend, co-worker, boss, lover or benevolent stranger…but ultimately, as Bette said, the decision (and outcome) in how to handle that opportunity lies with the individual. In this case, Tina. As Bette also pointed out she did not initially want Irene, but Tina made her own choice despite what Bette thought was best.

      Bette has exposed herself, both her heart and her future. Tina is a smart woman, I have faith that she will see the true depth of Bette’s love. Maybe she should talk to Jackie and Grace…they can certainly attest to Bette’s unselfish devotion as well.

      I’m hiding in the bushes next to the front porch waiting to see what happens next.

    10. Awww…the realization hits home. This has been such an orginal plot with twists and turns galore. So happy new chapters are forthcoming and the end is not quite in sight.

      I don’t know about Tina…but I would be completely overwhelmed that someone would attempt to stack the deck in my favor and positively impact my fate…it would be like looking into the future and knowing what’s in store.

    12. That was so AWESOME. I agree with everyone else. I am so glad Bette didn’t leave. The fact that she is pouring her heart out to Tina trying to show her she wants no secrets between them. Well, that just WOW. Tina’s gota know that just because they weren’t together, Bette never stopped loving her. She’s just got to know that.

    29. i absolutely love your story..just caught up…one of the things i love about your writing is that it definitely leaves me in thought…how would i feel if i was tina? it reminds me of one of my favorite Shakespeare quotes, from Hamlet, “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Everything that Bette did is just that, her actions and Tina’s reaction could go either way. Just like everything else in life – it is all relative. I am very curious to see how Tina will interpret Bette’s gestures.

    33. Great chapter, I hope Tina continues to see that his all came and comes out of love. AS Bette has said regardless of their personal ststus, she will always love and protect them. I hope Tina relaize how lucky she is, just look at the high rate of dead beat dads there are today.     46. Tina is listening, she is listening – she feels the love from Bette. She is quick to put 2 and 2 together; and she knows Bette so well that she knows that Bette truly loves her and Anna.

      Will Tina ever find out that Bette was indeed in the delivery room when Anna was born?
