    Chapter 52 – Catching Fire (HMS 1)

    Blushing slightly by the words and meaning that Bette is conveying Tina wants to take the spot light off of her Bette youre making me a little self conscious so why dont we talk about you for awhile. What have you decided about the CAC? Tina asks.

    Bette felt reluctant to move off of listening to Tina. She had been enjoying the conversation so much. Do we have to change places? It was so much more enjoyable listening to you than having me do all the talking. Bette protests.

    Tina starts laughing at Bette as she is saying thing this which prompts Bette to playfully pout a little.

    Just as Tina was about to call Bette on her little act the desert arrives with the waiter delivering the creation with the appropriate flair. Tina just gave Bette a quick promise Hey youre not off the hook. We will come back to you.

    Isnt this the most sinful desert you have ever seen? Bette innocently asks as she has already moved on.

    Chapter 52 – Catching Fire (HMS 1)

    Tina and Bette lingered over their desserts a little longer than normal both just enjoying the time together. When it was obvious to both that it was time to leave they both walked out hand and hand. Bette had discretely made a trip to the ladies room as Tina settled the bill. Upon her return Tina was waiting by the door for Bette and extended her hand for Bette to grasp as they walked out to her car.

    The ride back to Bettes apartment was quick with a few comments about how wonderful the food had been and how they both had eaten way too much. As Tina drove, Bette kept glancing in her direction as she was wondering how this evening would end.

    Tina was aware of Bettes glances, trying to put her at ease Tina asked the first thought that came to her mind Bette so tell me your thoughts about the CAC?

    At Tinas question Bette knew that any reluctance she had in talking about herself now would be misinterpreted so she just gave in and turned the spot light on herself.
    Well I tried that pro and con approach that I recommended to you but I keep coming back to the same conclusion. Bette begins.

However, Tina never did answer the entire question on Bette’s fear of loss. Is it that Tina doesn,’t even see it as a possibility so she doesn’t need to reply? God I hope so! BTW, it is a long weekend for me but it’s not ‘Memorial Day’ weekend. I live in the Caribbean, it just so happens that one of our holidays is this Monday too.
