At first Tina was irritated that Bette would invite Grace to
stay before the party, knowing that all the preparations would be
stressful. Bette must have read the look
as it crossed Tina’s face “Tina I tried calling and actually Grace tried too
but we both just got you full voicemail and no option to leave you
messages. In a way it sort of
personifies the way I have felt the last few days. It’s like I’m out here
trying to hold down the ship but my only way of contacting you is with some
string and a couple of soup cans.”
Tina had no answer to this. All she could do was apologize “I’m sorry”
She starts but gets cut off by Bette.
“Baby no that’s not what I’m looking for!” Bette gets out
and then lets out a deep sigh. “I’m not
trying to make you feel guilty or upset.
Let’s back up.” Bette stops takes Tina’s hand in hers. “First of all, thanks for taking time this
morning T. I know you have important
things to do this morning. I so
appreciate the fact that you are here this morning. I need this” Bette says holding Tina’s hand
up. “I need to feel connected to
you. It’s not a time thing it’s a
quality thing. We will always be
challenged by not having enough time together but I don’t think the answer is
you making insane trips which allow you to maximize your time with us but as a
consequence it makes you so tired that being together is little more than
sleeping next to each other.” Bette says and then frowns as this isn’t coming
out as she wanted either.
“Damn that isn’t much better.” Bette tries to regroup “T I
loose my foundation when we don’t talk.
I don’t know how I did it before but where I am now I just need to let
you know everything that crosses my mind.
The big and the little but the last few days it’s all been big.” Bette
says as she now looks to Tina to see if she understands.
Tina wanted to smile and frown at the same time. Smile at Bette’s desire to tell her
everything, no filters but brown at her own failure to be around for her. “Babe I know what you mean but I want to be
clear that nothing is more important to me than you and Anna.” Tina states wanting to re-enforce this
thought to Bette. “I like the idea of
you wanting to share all your thoughts with me and it pains me to think that I
have been putting up roadblocks in your way.
I will do better. But what pains
me more is the idea that the last few days have been full of important thoughts
that I haven’t been able to be there for you to share. What have I been missing? I’m here now.” Tina asks wanting to make up
for lost time.

JWet,Sitting here reading your kind comments and chortling away gently.Am all for the mutual admiration society but need you to come up with the name; not anagram needed unless you want one.So back to this brilliant and beautiful story.Having Tina’s despair so wonderfully realized in the last chapter it was reassuring to have this be a dream and lead to what can only be described as a fantastic fuckfest to reunite and bond these souls together for eternity.This scene was eloquently and movingly played out without the need for crude displays of affection. You use the most delicate and lightest of touch to capture a poignant moment between these lovers. One that most of us are only able to vicariously enjoy through your writing and not through genuine experience. And yet, it feels so real that I can almost touch and taste every sensation.As for Alice and the Mouth-eteers, I am sure that they will get to SheDevil and provide the most divine of retributions. One for all and all for one is their motto and plan for life.Then I was stunned and shocked by your cliffhanger!Bette admitting that she may not adopt Anna. I do feel that there is much more to this juice morsel and that Bette’s reluctance is part of a greater plan to pay back the SheDevil.I responded to this utterance much like Tina, “WHAT!!!”Words seems such a paltry way of stating my gratitude and appreciation for this magnificent melodrama. As always, I’ll wait impatiently for your next installment.Your Loyal Fan.
Jwet, this is the first time I’ve left a comment about how much I appreciate your writing. I was hooked on this story from the beginning and can’t wait until Helena gets what she deserves. Thanks for another great post and I can’t wait for more.
lol..Alice saved the day..now helena have to explain herself to one mama Peabody..lol..and glad Tina make her point to Bette that she is Annas mom as much as Tina is..and they shouldnt give up the adption process..great as always Jwet..thanks :o)
The rash has cleared up – good ointment that!! LOL. How often do you have to wash your towels though… thats the question!!Another great chapter mate – and yet again SHSL just hands Tina the cards to allow her to follow her instinct rather than jump ahead without consultation. I think I say this every chapter – can this woman get any better…… If this pedestal gets any higher we ain’t gonna be able to see her!

Your writing has proved to be one of my favorites, I just love the way Alice has supported Bette and Tina through another crisis. Let hope Peggy puts a stop to Helena’s mischief. Let us hope that Bette decide’s to tell Tina that she was present at the birth of Anna, which could help for the adoption, with the backing of Dr Wilson. Please post your next chapter soon.

JWet,Please note previous comments were for Chapter 118 so now one for Chapter 119.Jumping up and down with glee at knowing Bette reluctance at adopting Anna were to prevent further upheaval in Tina and Anna’s lives. Bette showed the wisdom of Solomon as she was prepared to sacrifice her own needs to protect her wife and child.Thank the heavens that Tina saw this surrender for what it was and demonstrated her grit and determination to make her family whole again. Tina knew that this was not an easy decision for Bette but with an aim that is straight and true pinpointed the real cause of this trauma.When your cause is just and sincere it is worth fighting for with all your heart and soul. This is what Tina and Bette will do for Anna’s sake as well as their own.I was wondering when Kit will be auditioning for the role of Town Cryer “Hear Ye! Hear Ye!”?Master stroke of ingenuity and subterfuge as SheDevil’s evil plan was announced to the world at large.Alice is in her element and able to target all of the strings to bring this house of cards down on top of HellCat.Looks like Mommy Dearest will have a word or two to say to her darling daughter.Magnificently structured payback begins and snowballs towards HellCat. Seriously Jwet dont you think it’s about time someone trips Helena up you know just stick their foot out and watch her lowlife arse go flying to the ground. It’s a shame that all her money has not managed to grace her with some semblance of decorum. I hope she sincerely gets some flesh eating bacteria. I am all in for that witch hunt very in keeping with Halloween. I think this is the first time I have commented on this story but I have been silently following it and I have to say its great. Your the only writer presently that makes me feel I can drink Helena’s blood.

I ‘m glad they aren’t backing down about the adoption and are going to take it on together. Tina needed to say that to Bette and it’s what Bette wanted/needed to hear with how she’d been feeling.I’m not sure I could come up with an appropriate punishment for Helen-a. With her illegal activities perhaps something involving being Big Bertha’s ‘bitch’ (if you know what I mean) or maybe Mummy Peggy cutting her off from the family billions and her having to get a real job. I’m sure you have something good up your sleeve with the introduction of Peggy and I’m looking forward to see what that is.

B&T together are solid as a rock now. I truly believe H will crash on that rock. As much as I don’t want this story to end, I can’t wait for you to let Bett to tell T that she saw Anna’s birth. Is it an ace up your sleeve you hold to beat H in court? Haha, I know you can’t answer that.
Still having website ‘issues’ so I was not able to comment on the last chapter. However, I am here for this one!You deftly led Bette through dangerous water with Tina and her position on adopting Anna. That’s certainly an issue with a hair-trigger and it could have gone either way. Understandably Bette would be nervous to talk about it, and even the best laid out speech can come out jumbled when nerves are involved. But she regrouped and made her case. Thankfully, Tina was able to see it for what it was…a genuine request for the good of the family. The new Bette is new and true to her core. I like how Tina became like a lioness, as protective of Bette as she is of Anna. She is not willing to have her life run by others, translation – Helena Peabody. Tina’s tendentious argument was certainly convincing. Helena would do well to take heed.I loved how Kit just blurted out what she was thinking. Evidently, lack of filters run in the Porter genes. OK, finally…Alice has fully redeemed herself with me. It was touch and go there for a while, but I am glad to see that she is rock solid when the question staying true to her friends is at stake. She deserves for the story to go national.It was kind of funny to see Shane as the town crier this time. She’s always there, like the calvery…just over the hill. She’s got your back.Be careful Helena…Momma Peabody is not going to be amused. Now it’s going to get really good!Excellent chapter.

It sp hard to find the right words to express, how much your story has touch us all. Bette in all her wisdom,came through like a trooper. Was willing tp give up on adopting Anna to keep from hurting her family. Jwet, thanks for another wonderful chapter. Totally didn’t see the “What!!” was coming from Kit. LOL. You’ve illustrated the depth of thought coming from Bette and Tina conversation on the adoption very well, from Bette’s hesitation on adopting Anna so that Helena wouldn’t create havoc in her loved ones’ lives, to Tina seeing through Helena’s ploy and insisting that they stand up to Helena together. You’ve shown again and again that Bette is no longer that rash, self centered person. Everything she does and thinks about always puts her family first and puts her own needs and wants last. Gone is the selfish, self-absorbed person that contributed to the downfall of her marriage. Of course Tina was touched. I know I was…Alice really has redeemed herself in everyone’s eyes. Loved her article and she deserves to be picked up nationally. Do I hear a Pulitzer or an Edward R. Murrow for investigative reporting on the horizon? Go Girl!!Looks like the charging Helena will be reined in by her Mummy. Or at least I hope so. I’ve always felt that Peggy likes Bette very much and hopefully she’ll really lend a hand in stopping this war declared on Bette & Tina. What will she do to her darling petulant child?Even though we’re rolling towards the end and I’m sure I’m not the only one who will be sad to see it end, please take your time…maybe another 10 or 20 chapters to get there?
JWET – this was sweet Helena finally nailed although I am sure she will rise again to torture our love birds and family. A few chapters backed I called you evil but now I know you are divinely inspired with wit and heat and such a wonderfully woven view of all of these characters. Look forward to where you go next.
