They rushed Tina into labor and delivery, she was contracting pretty fast. It wasn’t going to take her long to give birth. Bette called Peggy and let her assistant know that Tina was going to have the baby, her assistant promised to get the message to her ASAP. Bette then ran through the waiting area and shouted to their friends that Tina’s water broke and all their mouths fell open. They all shouted their congrats as she ran back into labor and delivery.

She found Tina’s room and went in, they already had her dressed and in the bed. She had her head back and her eyes closed. Bette walked to Tina’s right side and ran her palm over her forehead, brushing the hair from her face. She opened her eyes and smiled; in her eyes she could tell she was excited and scared at the same time.

“You’re gonna do great baby.”

“I know, I’m just a little scared,” Tina said, her eyes tearing up.

“It’s ok love, I’m gonna be here with you every step of the way.”

“But she’s early, why is she early?”

“It’s only by a couple of weeks Tee, she probably heard her Fairbanks cousins are about to be born and she didn’t want to get out done.”

“You think,” she asked and laughed as I nodded, “that’s a Porter for you.”

“Yep,” Bette said and smiled proudly. They laughed together and heard a knock at the door.

“Yes,” Tina answered and they saw Dana walk in with a smile.

“Porter, you were always one for competition.”

“It’s not me, talk to the baby,” Bette said and laughed.

“Well hundred bucks says my kids are born first,” Dana said and grinned. Bette and Tina looked at each other a shrugged.

“You’re on,” Bette said and shook Dana’s hands.

An hour went by and Tina was almost fully dilated, from the reports they were getting from their friends so was Lara. Dr. Wilson knew it wasn’t going to be long for either of them, so she had changed into her scrubs and had Bette put some on as well. Another hour went by and Bette had been by Tina’s side, holding her hand the entire time. Tina had been in an immense amount of pain; she gripped Bette’s hand and cried out many times. Bette’s heart broke and she ran around like a crazy woman trying to get Tina an epidural. Both Dr. Wilson and the anesthesiologist walked in and Tina let out a hard sigh.
