    Chapter 18 – Preflight Planning

     

    Anthony nodded ‘yes’ and turned his head to reveal his face and speak the word aloud.  “Yes.”  He whispered. 

     

    Tina continued to rock and rub his back.  “We can pack a picnic lunch and spend the day with the animals…”  She made a mental note to call the zoo and inquire about activities for children.  She hoped it would not be too last minute to register for something fun. 

     

    Anthony brought his thumb to his mouth and before his mommy could fully acknowledge the habit they had worked hard to break, he removed it and began twiddling one of the open buttons on Tina’s blouse.  “Can Madie come with us?”  He asked pulling his head back to look at his mommy for her answer.

     

    “We can ask…”  Tina smiled in reply.

     

    “Miss Bette can come too!”  Anthony announced getting excited about the prospect.

     

    Tina chuckled softly.  “I tell you what…”  She began with a playful tap of a finger on her son’s nose.  “I’ll call and ask Miss Bette after I call the zoo to find out what time they open and what activities they have this weekend…”

     

    Anthony lunged for the phone on his mommy’s beside table.  Tina held his waist to prevent him from tumbling to the floor.  “Call now mommy!”  He said grabbing the phone then righting himself in her lap.

    Bette could not believe she was stuck in traffic this time of the evening.  She could see the lights of emergency vehicles up ahead a couple of blocks at the apparent scene of an accident.  She checked her rearview mirror and cursed under her breath at the line of cars pinning her from any alternative route.  Frustration mounted as she considered the real possibility that she would miss Madie’s bedtime and she quickly snatched her mobile phone from her handbag to inform her sister, who was keeping Madie, of the delay.

     

    The phone rang at the exact same instant Bette pressed the send key to place her call to Kit and subsequently connected with the incoming call.  “Fuck!”  She said aloud without thinking as she brought the phone to her ear.  “Hello!”  She said sharply.

Hey Sunkissed, I just keep coming back to the point that Kelley’s body was never recovered therefore she may have lived.This would be a real shock for Tina as she has finally embarked on a new relationship with Bette after some much grief and sorrow.I hope that Tina can find her way to her true love… Bette of course.Anthony and Madie would be distraught without each other.You just keep twisting the knife.Brilliant.More please and many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

Wish drawings: &_#*% … @}{@ … Just in case you can’t tell, the first one is Grandma Vera sitting in her rocking chair looking at Anthony and Madie as they hold Pete the Pup in the air between them. Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Bette and Tina are having their noses collide whilst they’re making out. ;-)

I had some vague metaphor worked out about dark clouds and new relationships and sunshine, but my breakfast sugar boost is working against me and what I wanted to say is as sludgy as the leftover cereal I didn’t finish.     10. I’ve missed this story and am glad you are continuing. A few months ago I even said in my comment that I felt Kelley was alive. Hmm. What are you up to pray tell.

Yes, very selfish of me not wanting her to go to New York unless Bette was with her because I knew this was coming and I don’t want anything to come between them an d their newly budding relationship. If that is indeed Kelley, I’m so sorry she has amnesia, that has to be the most awful thing to happen to one, to not know who you are nor your previous life and loved ones and to top it off, they don’t even know that you are alive. Bummer in the extreme. Now if I can just sit and wait for the next couple chapters without conjuring all sorts of things that may or may not happen. Thanks for posting.

    12. Nice move with Anthony Tina lol.Gosh I was afraid of this part and expected that you have taking it out of the chapter. Unfortunately no, I am sure this mystery woman is Kelley and I don’t like that at all. Now, my heart is thumping like mad and please come back yesterday sunkissed.:-)

    16. When you mentioned earlier in the story that Kelley’s body was never recovered I had a feeling she would show up at some point. Poor Tina’s heart. We all know it belongs to Bette. Anxious to see how you settle all of this.
