Prolouge
Shane took all morning and a few shots to muster up the metaphorical balls she had lost before coming to the She Bar. Dawn looked like she’d actually been waiting because when Shane walked up she was right there to greet her. “Shane Shane Shane what can we do for you” Dawn asked leaning on the rail of the She Bar’s deck. Shane had totally thought this out this morning but all that preparation flew out the window as Dawn stared her down. “I’d love to talk to you two” Shane uttered as she tried to formulate a new plan. Her old one had been stupid anyways. Dawn considered for a second before reaching out a hand to Cindi’s arm. “My girlfriend and I are listening” Dawn said prompting Shane to continue. Shane said the first thing that came to mind. “good wanna grab a table”.
Dawn looked appalled she’d even suggested it and with a huff she declined with a sharp “No”. Right. Shane thought as she walked up a little closer to the deck. “I came here to apologize” Shane said glad she didn’t trip over her words. “I didn’t mean any disrespect towards you or to your relationship… I apologize and I’m sorry for the way that I treated you when you came into my house I was just a little well uh…I wasn’t me that night. I wanted to make peace. And if there’s anything I can do to level the playing field I’d..” Shane finished leaving it open ended and inwardly cheered at how smoothly that went. Dawn looked down in though until Cindi whispered to her and she nodded. “You remember the V.I.P room right Shane” Dawn asked and Shane nodded quickly. “Let’s go chat in private”. Shane somewhat liked where this was going…
Dawn and Cindi escorted her much like the first time except it was quieter and no one was around. Dawn closed the door and Cindi sat on the couch as Dawn turned around and leaned on the wall. “Well Shane we obviously still like you and Cindi really want’s to keep you around so I’ll tell you what. You can be our third wheel whenever we want you around and you stick around She Bar maybe even …work here”. Shane stared at Dawn for a moment and nodded still liking where this was going. “Good we can reach an agreement” Dawn said as Shane started to get up but Dawn wasn’t moving from in front of the door. “One more thing. You can’t go to The Planet anymore or talk to them unless they decide to come here. And just to be clear our relationship is closed between us three so no cheating”.
Shane was dumbfounded for a moment. Who the hell did Dawn think she was. “Wow Dawn you have lost your mind” Shane said as she moved to get past her but Dawn reached out and snagged her arm. “Shane I’m not really giving you a choice. If you refuse to accept my terms I’ll have The Planet shut down and it won’t take long”. Shane looked at Dawn and knew that Dawn would do it. She would get The Planet shut down before Shane could cross the street to her car. “Why go through all the trouble and why me”. Dawn looked Shane up and down like she was mentally ill before crossing her arms. “Everyone in this town and the next town over probably know you Shane because your such a ‘player’. Having you at the She Bar would bring in more business than if I hired Ellen DeGeneres to do it. And as for why? Why would you even ask? “.
Cindi came up behind Shane and wrapped her arms around her waist as she started to play with the buttons on Shane’s shirt and kissed her shoulder. “Because your so worth it”.
