    April 1999

    The Waldorf-Astoria

    Tina stood upright in one effortless motion, her heart pounding with equal amounts of regret and anticipation. She felt the weight of her words collapse upon her once again as she rested her heavy head on the door frame separating her from Bette. 

    I love you, Bette…

    The sincere words pierced her now as she continued to silently baracade herself from the one she most wanted to be with.  Never in her life had Tina been so shamelessly open about her feelings; but then again, never had she felt quite what she was feeling now. 

    She could detect the brunettes presence just outside the door, wondering how long Bette would gently demand entry before she gave up trying to pacify the blonde.

    "Tina…I’m not going anywhere….just let me in…" Bette began softly, answering Tina’s thoughts.

    Tina winced and as she silently unlocked the bathroom door, knowing that it was time to face the consequences of her actions, whatever they may be.

    Without opening the door, Tina slipped out of her robe completely and began to run the shower. 

    On the other side of the door, Bette raised her eyebrows in surprise as she faintly heard the water begin to run.  She rubbed her forehead, exasperated that her efforts to coax the blonde out had been fruitless.

    Just as Bette started to turn and allow Tina time to herself she heard the blonde’s voice echo from behind the door.

    "It’s open…" Tina called hesitantly, unsure of what she would say when she was face to face with Bette.  Tina slowly closed the shower door, relishing the comfort of the warm water pouring over her tense body.

    She heard the bathroom door open quietly, knowing Bette was now inside and words were bound to be spoken regardingTina’s untimely outpouring of emotion.

    Tina braced herself as she  hugged her own body tightly, the shower pouring a warm layer of protection over her.

    She waited for what seemed like hours for Bette to speak.

    Instead of words, Tina was greeted with Bette herself.  Tina nearly gasped as she watched the brunette enter the shower, her toned body glistening as water gently sprayed about in the small space.

    Bette locked Tina’s gaze, her eyes mixed with warmth and concern. 

    "Bette….I…I didn’t mean to say…" Tina began, anxious to end the torment she felt for exposing herself so completely.  She unknowingly let her arms to fall from their self embrace, allowing her entire body to be seen under the gentle flow of the shower.

    Bette shook her head softly, her eyes dialating as they took in the blonde’s soaked body.  "Shhhhh…" Bette placed her finger lightly against her mocha lips as she began to step forward and close the small space between them…

I am so happy that you are back I missed your presence, and your touch on this site, and I can’t believe that I am writing to you again, it’s sounds surreal after all this time that passed.
