April 1999
Tina clutched her middle and slightly bent forward, the gravity of the situation now hitting her like a freight train…
What have I done…
The phrase led a continuous loop through her mind. She began to feel like she was in a dream…the situation was just too surreal. Had she really just broken off a two year relationship to a man that she knew loved her…and for a woman? A woman she barely knew?
Tina shook her head at the thought. She knew in her heart of hearts that it was so much more than that…their relationship was on a downward spiral long before the brunette entered the picture.
But still…she couldn’t deny the strong pull that drew her to Bette Porter. It was the final push to send her hurtling over the edge, releasing her obligation to Eric in the process.
Tina’s eyes were clenched shut, the fear of the unknown beginning to haunt her now.
Where was she going to go? Eric wanted her out of the home they had shared for 6 months…immediately. Tina didn’t have any family in the area, much less in the state of California. Likewise, what few friends she had made in LA were all married with children…she couldn’t impose herself on them like that…
Tina rubbed her forehead with pure exhaustion. She was suddenly completely spent.
"Tina?" A childlike voice questioned curiously.
Tina abruptly lifted her head, hastily wiping her face clean and plastering on a plastic smile.
She recognized the spikey blonde haired girl instantly, and allowed her face to crumble a little in her presence. "Hi Alice…" Tina barely managed.
"Sweetie, oh my god…are you okay? What’s wrong? Why are you crying? Are you hurt?" Alice quickly jumped to Tina’s side, wrapping a comforting arm around her shoulders.
Tina couldn’t help but laugh a little through her tears at Alice’s round of questions. She was adorably nosey.
"I’m fine…I just…" Tina began, unsure if she should be forthcoming to the virtual stranger at her side. Yet the warmth that Alice provided for her at that moment instantly relaxed her and made her feel in the company of a true friend.
"Eric and I just…we ended things…" Tina admitted quietly.
"Oh my god!" Alice drew in a gasp. "SERIOUSLY?" she continued, captivated by the intensity of the situation she had walked into.

No that was quick thinking on Alice’s part. Bette will know where Tina is staying for the evening. How could she ever resist a visit and a chance to comfort Tina during this difficult time? Fire, your story just keeps getting better!

I think Bette might kiss Alice for this one. Then Louie can tell Bette where he dropped off Tina.

Alice is such a doll. Glad that Louie is taking care of making sure Tina gets somewhere safe. Now Tina needs to sort her head out so Bette has a chance.

Why is it that no matter how many pages you post I still want more? Glad to see Alice comfort Tina before she had a chance to run off. Bette’s still gonna be worried about her when Alice tells her what’s going on, but at least she will know where Tina is staying for the night (nice job Alice!). When this story wraps up I seriously hope that you have another story waiting in the wings. Your writing skills are too good to sit idle (not to mention that alot of readers will suffer major withdrawals). With that said, I do hope that THIS story will continue for a while longer.
