Tina looked at Bette and thought I am so glad I didn’t walk away from this. “T, come in T. Are you in there Tina?” “Huh, oh yeah. You ready to go?” ” Yeah, baby what were you thinking about,” Bette asked her wife. “Oh just how much all the kids have grown-up so much, so fast. I mean I swear it was just yesterday that Gramham was eating glue and sticking marbles up his nose.” “Sweetie, it was just yesterday. You would think a 20 year old would know better, but I guess somethings never change.” ” Bette it was not yesterday, and he turned out just right. Stop picking on my son.” “Your son huh, well good cause I don’t want him as long as I get Kate and Jaime I’m good. AJ and Graham are to much trouble.” Tina snorted, ” is that so well fine.”
“Wait momma don’t I get a say who I want to go with,” asked Kate Kenter the youngest of the Kenter kids at 17. ” Jesus, Kate could you at least make your presence know, instead of making me piss myself.” ” Bette Porter, watch your mouth in front of YOUR daughter.” Tina said as she tried to hide the smile that was creeping on her face. Tina always wondered from time to time if she had truly made the right choice of coming back to Bette, but with moments like this she knew that she had.

Bette knew that Tina wasn’t being honest when she asked her what she was thinking about, but decide not to bring up especially with Kate and Jaime standing right there. She always wondered if she would ever feel safe enough to know that Tina would never leave her, even after 31 years together, well if you count the 1 year that Tina had just up and left after her affair with Helena Peabody it was 30 years but still that was along time to still carry around all that doubt. It wasn’t that Bette doubted Tina’s love, it was just Bette’s concern on if she was truly enough for Tina.
Bette remembered exactly how she felt when she found her wife of 8 years and her boss Helena Peabody naked and fully in the act of pleasing each other to their hearts content. She had come home early that day, because she had felt bad about how she had acted that morning and had decided to suprise Tina with a long weekend in Santa Barbara. Bette had walked into the house with a bouquet of lillies, Tina’s favorite flowers and a bottle of very expensive wine. She heard noises coming from the bedroom and figured that Tina was moving the furniture around like they had discussed the night before. Even now when Bette thought about it, she got physically ill. She had found Helena’s head between Tina’s legs, who was spread eagle fully enjoying being eaten out by Helena. Tina had never heard the front door open, or for that matter the bedroom door. She wasn’t even aware that her wife was watching her as she was being pleased by her boss. All Tina heard was the wine bottle drop and she knew that Bette had caught them. The look on Bette’s face was a mixture of angry, pain, sadness and shear disgust.

When Tina and Bette had finally worked everything out, Tina had made a vow that she would never hurt Bette like that ever again.
